The BRIC countries are alternative sources of supplies to China. By having access to the China market, these countries can improve their production and processes, posing greater challenges to Canada as a whole in the long term. I am afraid the ultimate loser will be Canada.

I dont understand Trudeau. Currently Canada assembles one Hybrid electric car (the Pacifica) so what industry are we protecting with that 100% tarif on chinese EV? I propose Canada should take off all tariffs on Chinese EV since Trump is imposing 25% on all Canadian exports to USA. This way we could get inexpensive Chinese EV in Canada and punish US car sales here in retaliation for those US tariffs.

Canada now sells 75 to 80% of its' produces to the US, But Trump's tariff will hurt Canada more, Canada only buys 15% US produces and the deficit is huge That Trump will Want large US companies moving back to US which is about 50% of Canada's GDP. Expect the worst as US's economy will likely collapse in 2025 and hyperinflation will hurt Canadian dollars as US will print enough Dollars to buy Canadian products.
