The BRIC countries are alternative sources of supplies to China. By having access to the China market, these countries can improve their production and processes, posing greater challenges to Canada as a whole in the long term. I am afraid the ultimate loser will be Canada.

Since Canada leadership prefers to be a dog that obediently follows it master US dirty orders then don’t blame China for retaliating and let them enjoy their own medicine. Bravos China 💪💪💪👏👏👏. Canada forgets it goes both ways. 😂😂😂

I think Spain's move is directed towards gaining China's decision when they start assembling cars in Europe, thus bypassing the tariffs increase. Bold, but clearly a protectionist move.

Trade barriers will invite coubter barriers. Its inevitable. Canada kidnapped Huawe's CFO at the behest of US.. Now it's instigating trade barriers. Don't blame others for unreasonable barriers. It's not the 1800s any more.

I dont understand Trudeau. Currently Canada assembles one Hybrid electric car (the Pacifica) so what industry are we protecting with that 100% tarif on chinese EV? I propose Canada should take off all tariffs on Chinese EV since Trump is imposing 25% on all Canadian exports to USA. This way we could get inexpensive Chinese EV in Canada and punish US car sales here in retaliation for those US tariffs.

Canada has MUCH more to lose than China in a trade war especially when Trump is threatening heavy tariffs. China has alternate sources such as Brazil and Argentina for agricultural products; whereas it is practically impossible for Canada to replace a buyer as big as China.

This narrative is inaccurate. Shouldn't you talk about in your preamble that the main reason for the trade war? Isn't it important for you to highlight that the trade war would not have happened if Canada has not started it? Canada should not be a cry baby when they are unable to bear the consequences of lower agricultural exports to China. All this would not have happened if the idiotic Canadian PM did not start it. Shouldn't you put this factual background to enable your narrative to be completely unbiased? As it is, the perception from you narrative is that China s also to be blamed. And this is misleading.

Ultimately, insurance companies will be our saviour in the scam of EV's. The risks associated with owning an EV, particularly around collateral damage, will become so much of a liability that insurance companies will price it accordingly. That will make EV ownership unviable. How these dangerous contraptions are allowed to circumvent safety legislation and rules is beyond me. Presumably it is is because EV's have 'Climate Change' and 'eco-friendly' (which they are absolutely not - think of all that polluted water used to put fires out) written all over them.

Canada lost China already as China banned imports of Canadian agriculture products and clothing while stopped Exporting raw materials to Canada including aluminum and steel. Canada now sells 75 to 80% of its' produces to the US, But Trump's tariff will hurt Canada more, Canada only buys 15% US produces and the deficit is huge That Trump will Want large US companies moving back to US which is about 50% of Canada's GDP. Expect the worst as US's economy will likely collapse in 2025 and hyperinflation will hurt Canadian dollars as US will print enough Dollars to buy Canadian products.
