How do you get your mixing jar completely clean again?! I've tried 99% alc and its messy.
@ArijanaLukic
@ArijanaLukic 24 күн бұрын
Hmm I don't think that I cleaned the jar. I used to measure water for quantity and pour into a cup. Then mark a line to where the water comes. Do the same for resin and same for hardener so when I use the same cups to measure, I know the exact amount. If I use another jar to mix both together, I do not clean that jar. I let it cure and I reuse it over and over. Some plastic jars can let you peel the residue when it's cured, but don't expect it. Perhaps if you buy a silicone jar, you will be able to peel the cured resin every time.

At what ponit did you add the resin?
@ArijanaLukic
@ArijanaLukic 5 ай бұрын
So you add 10% paint to a cup and then you add 90% resin mix to it and mix together. That is where your resin goes. Once you pour it, it dries and it's glossy.

When did you add the black pupil? I didn't actually see that part. I'm trying to figure that part out before I try it.

Hiw much time did u wait for swirls to do after pouring inks ??
@ArijanaLukic
@ArijanaLukic 2 жыл бұрын
I do not remember exactly, it depends on the temperature conditions in the room and also the resin type. If your resin is super runny, I would wait 5-10min...if it thickens quick, I wouldn't wait at all then. Observe your resin and do some tests so you know what to do best for your room conditions. :)

How did you get the centre of the iris? How did you get it to be hollow?
@ArijanaLukic
@ArijanaLukic 2 жыл бұрын
How resin works is all according the mold. If you notice its behaviour, the resin dries faster on the edges, so there is a pull of the inks that happen. Because this mold is an oval with the thickest part in the centre, the ink is pulled to the sides which leaves a dark hollow part. :) Pretty cool hey!

Where did you buy the shadow box from? I can’t seem to find that.
@ArijanaLukic
@ArijanaLukic 2 жыл бұрын
Do you mean the panel? I bought the panel at a hardware store and put a tape around it. So it's not a shadow box...but a taped wooden piece. If you are talking about the white shadow boxes which I use to frame some of my small art, I buy them at Michael's for the most part. I hope this answers your question. :)

Better result: get a $40 laminating machine and laminate all paper that will be resin soaked. This prevents glue wrinkles and curling. Great vid bravo! Love your work.

@davidgwynn535
@davidgwynn535 2 жыл бұрын
I love these! Please could you tell me if you let your resin sit after pouring into the moulds before adding the inks? Also what the temperature is when you did these as I am struggling to get these results in 5 degree temperatures. Thank you!
@ArijanaLukic
@ArijanaLukic 2 жыл бұрын
5 Degrees temperature is quite cold indeed. In my home it's usually between 18 - 20 degrees Celcius. What you can do is, put your cup with resin alone in a warm water bucket under neat for 20min before you mix it with the hardener. Maybe this will provide you with more room to play. Every resin is also different so you have to adjust temperature accordingly. Also, I live in a dry environment. It may be different in a humid place. I sometimes let my resin sit a little bit before dropping the ink, but again this is something you need to check with your conditions. If you resin dries super fast maybe you don't have time to drop the inks later and should be immediate. You are the master observer of the experiment. Take notes and you will nail down your perfect solution with your particular condition. It's a chemistry experiment haha Enjoy!

That’s beautiful, but what was the ratio of resin to paint please?
@ArijanaLukic
@ArijanaLukic 2 жыл бұрын
The ratio is always maximum 10% paint/Color to 90% resin. Add little paint first as you can add more if needed but it's not good to add too much. Enjoy :)
