I hate that Mel Blanc was kind of an @$$ Hole taking all the credit I know they did not want to pay him more money when he highly deserved it but it was like the day I found out about Hulk Hogan politics to make himself better it hurt me because these were men I looked up to. I finished watching Kamen Rider V3 last week. I consider it to be a great follow up and continuation of the original. V3 was originally going to appear in the original Kamen Rider show as a third rider, as plans for the 1971 series was to keep going as long as possible as more than 150-200 episodes. But due to production cost, schedule time and trying balancing out on which of the three riders would appear from episode to episode it would have made it impossible and difficult, so it was logically decided around late part of the show to do a new entry series without causing problems and issues, despite wanting to end the 71 series with 100 episodes. The costume designs are great. V3’s design is excellent, the color red and green fitted for the character. Riderman’s design is nice, but… a bit step backwards compared to V3’s and Riders 1 and 2. The villain group Destron are good, it is true they are Shocker 3.0 as Shocker in general are the main over arching villains though out most of Showa era until between Skyrider and Super 1. The dark gritty tone is done well. Which gave a more serious story that all things are on the line and if V3 loses it’s over. The episodes are great save for a few. The late run production between late 1973 through early 1974 ran into some problems mostly due to the “First Oil Shock” in October of 73 and the infamous “Japanese Cinema Crash” which occurred between 73-74 which had a fair negative impact on Japan’s entertainment industry. Also to note V3 had 52 episodes which is good it would the only until 1979 entry Skyrider to have that number lineup, while successor X, and Amazon for example would have 35 and 24 episodes mostly due the issues mentioned and strong competition from the anime side. Nevertheless V3 is considered a great entry, but a great successor to the original. V3 is considered the top ten best toutsatsu show from the 1970s and top five best Showa era riders mostly in third behind the original and Black. Mr. no Kami. I have few questions to ask. 1. Are you going to do any review on Kamen Rider mini series, Kamen Rider: Black Sun? 2. I heard Kamen Rider X is next for Discotek to release, just curious. When is the release date for it? 3. Are you ever going to do a review on the toutsatsu Spider Man?

My list would include Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs, The Little Mermaid, The Flintstones, The Simpsons, Batman The Animated Series, and the various incarnations of Super Friends.

I disagree that the Dethgaliens were boring, I liked them and felt they were more like those rich snobs that like to watch blood sport underground fights or live sex acts. and of course there was great stuff for Kubald and Azald, even for Genis. i remember watching this series when it first aired and writing out my thoughts and feelings for each episode. i knew the show wasn't perfect, especially that weird last minute revelation about Genis that comes about in the final episode. I wish it had been made a little earlier or made any difference to the narrative. I mean, what I dont get is Genis reaction to people finding out what he truly is.

also during Kamen Rider Drive's spin-offs, V3 is seen fighting Kamen Rider Sangou/3 which is known as the "battle of the number-3" because Kamen Rider V3 versus Kamen Rider 3, though V3 lost the battle.

This list is the first I've heard of the quality of Gundam SEED Freedom, and as someone who refuses to watch SEED Destiny due to it being an expansion of the faults and issues present in the final episodes of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ("Lacus Strikes" up to the final two-parter), hearing that SEED Freedom is just as bad hurts a fair bit. To go from the spiteful yuribaiting sellout of The Witch from Mercury to the return of SEED Destiny in all but name is a bit like going out of the frying pan, and into the fire in my opinion. As for my list of crappy movies... I don't go to the cinema that often, only relegating it to catching old favourites or one trip for something I'm excited for. So thankfully, I didn't watch that much crap in terms of 2024 films. In terms of older stuff which I watched on Home Video, X-Men Origins: Wolverine is definitely my worst however. It was everything bad about X-Men: The Last Stand multiplied by a thousand, bloated with a buttload of characters who have nothing to do with Logan's story, and featuring some of the worst special effects of all time.

I want to say another great video looking forward to the next one. Do I have to watch the original Kamen Rider before I watch V3? And also is V3 a good showa era kamen rider to watch first or if there's a difference showa era you recommend instead?

Haven’t heard from Hiroshi as of late. Wouldn’t blame the guy if he retired, fans have to understand that actors can’t do a lot of what they used to when they get older.

Though I find Hongo to be more charismatic, I much prefer Ichimonji. His tenure in the show defined the franchise.

Great review, I had a feeling you'd like V3 more that 71. I personally love 71 despite it's flaws but can't argue that V3 is indeed a step up. And yes, Baron Tusk and his tribe were my favorite too. Anesthetically Destron in general was a major improvement over Shocker.

I am wondering if the return of the first two was planned from the start due to the message they give immediately after their supposed deaths.

I also just recently finished Kamen Rider V3 and yes, it is not perfect but I enjoyed most of the episodes especially the 1st 20-plus episodes when Kazami is still learning his powers and what he can and cannot do. The Double Riders team-up episodes were fun although predictable. I agree that Riderman should have debuted earlier as Interpol agent Sakuma Ken was kinda useless after his arc ended and he just stayed around till he quietly left the show. Sakuma did a cameo in Kamen Rider Spirits manga as a support to aid the Kamen Riders and SPIRITS teams plus we all know what happened to Riderman at the end of the series which he later returned in Kamen Rider X movie with no explanation. Riderman's actor Yamaguchi's daughter co-wrote a manga chapter in Vol 2 of Kamen Rider Spirits explaining what happened to Riderman/Yuki Joji before his return to join up with the other riders. Miyaguchi also did a lot of his own stunt work in the show although as you mentioned in the review, Toei really doesn't want another scenario of a main actor getting injured during shooting. But I also find Kazami more interesting as he too initially starts off as a vengeful person after his family is killed and even begs the Double Riders to turn him into a cyborg. But since the Double Riders' went MIA after episode 2, Kazami has to learn the hard way of fighting for the greater good instead of taking revenge against Destron. I am glad that Tachibana acted as his conscience since he knew too well what Hongo and Ichimoji had gone through before. So when Riderman appears, Kazami sees him as obsessed with revenge against Marshall Armour and what he might become if he too falls the dark path. Of course, Kazami will later become more confident when he cameo in future Showa Rider series, which is probably why fans love V3 more than Ichigo and Nigo. I am now halfway through Kamen Rider X, and it is pretty good. Although Keisuke isn't as charismatic as Kazami, he has a soft spot for orphans since he, too, is an orphan. (See the first episode of Kamen Rider X to know why.) Apollo Geist was also a cool villain/Rival for Kamen Rider X.

Well, glad that V3 was good. It wasn’t the Sharivan for Kamen Rider but it was nice enough for a sequel.

Remember this series from the bat man episodes from very old tapes. The brutal injury and the training session to improve stuck out to me back then. However, the ending was disappointing and later series retcon the deaths of ichigo, nigo, and rider man. There are a lot of reused monster and the whole cyborg secret identity plot concept that may seem like a homage, but more like lazy especially after a year. There’s the obvious trio bat cobra and scorpion that are still used to today. Aside from Amazon, which is also the shortest and more graphic showa rider series, most showa riders series are essentially just remake of the same series.

I sure hope that Discotek does the first Kamen rider show in blu ray soon. I heard that they will bring Kamen Rider X

I would love if toku spirits were to get Miyauchi to attend the next power morphicon.

I'm surprised Taki's actor never got to play a Kamen Rider or toku hero of his own since he definitely had that old school kenji oba/hiroshi miyauchi lead character type charisma.

Do you remember the PS1 Spider-Man it was released in year of 2000 after Spider-Man unlimited aired in 1999 so that’s how the cartoon and the game is sharing the same voice actor

Have a feeling you might not enjoy this as much. Even the lead actor said zubat was his favorite lead toku role. However, it’s the only one that became an obscure niche favorite.

Daisuke was popular actor in 2000s he had many job offer so his appearance was limited.

Eras is an interesting...concept for a big bad. She wants to destroy all life on earth because she believes humans, rysouls etc. Are destroying it. She thinks she will bring peace to the planet by wiping out life from it. A really cool concept...however, when she only has the last 8 episodes to work with amd only having a body in the last 3...well...

While not necessarily a bad film, I definitely don't think this film was good as his Invisible Man film.

Hard to pick a favorite werewolf movie. Theres the classics like Howling and American werewolf in paris. But i also tend to include the werewolf of Fever Swamp because that was my first "scary" werewolf media i saw.
