What kind of motor is used for the green ghoul wearing a hat? Is that a wiper motor ?

I'm not sure if you are still checking your comments or answering any questions.... You have some excellent props and cleaver designs...and I want to make mine come alive too! One question: would a rotisserie BBQ motor work just as well, Adding an attachment to make a bigger circular rotation? I also have so many appliances that my parents NEVER threw away! Hahaha My hubby wanted to get rid of them I said Nooooo ..they have motors! He rolled his eyes...he knew what I wanted them for. Halloween is my favorite time of the year and my whole yard is themed out in diy props! They just don't move! I want to bring them to life! I hope you get this and I'll be anxious awaiting your reply! Thank you!

Hey, just saw your comment. From other comments I’ve gathered that Steve, the original poster, passed away a couple of years ago. But to answer your question, I believe a rotisserie motor would work pretty well. I’m not an expert on programming or controllers, so I don’t know if those would work with that type of motor. But for basic movement, a rotisserie motor should be great.

The hinged box wrenches are amazing too. You can use almost every angle you need. I haven’t reached the end of the video yet but is there a list of links for the tools he mentioned on here? Soo many tools I’ve never heard of but absolutely need and want to go buy. Steve was such an amazing instructor for those of us totally new to this stuff. His passing was so tragic and sudden. My heart goes out to his family. I wish I could have met him but Im thankful his video still are available. I’m just now binge watching all of his videos that I haven’t seen yet. This one is so helpful.

The solder may have flux in it but I’ve found using flux just makes everything bind together much faster and stronger. Also, use a breadboard to hold pins straight while you solder the ends to keep it in place. Hopefully that helps someone else that watches this.

An enclosure is also helpful to prevent dust and temperature fluctuations, especially when working with ABS and other higher temp filament.

As a Computer Engineer that's always wanted to get into animatronics (as a hobby), thank you so much for this channel! I'm not worried about the electronics, I'm worried about the mechanics. Awesome stuff.

If the top comment is true, I am so sad right now. I will stay subscribed and continue to watch all of your videos. So far it looks like you're one of the only ones that does the animatronics I want to dive into. For your family, I'm sorry for your loss. It was an amazing thing for him to record his knowledge and pass it on to strangers.

Man could I use your help!!! Which motor would you suggest using that is very lightweight and can make huge butterfly wings slowly open and close? The butterfly is going to be suspended above me...somehow..... not sure how just yet lol I think this year I am really pushing the envelope lol It's going to be nothing short of a miracle if I am successful. My goal is to be a fairy with a HUGE monarch butterfly floating above me to the side with wings that are motorized to open and close. I also have to figure out how to attach paper mache mushrooms and flowers to set the scene. I was thinking about attaching the shroms to my leg using wires and covering the wire with vines and flowers. As I am writing this I am thinking it's official,,,, I have lost my damn mind lol lol lol Thank you for any advice you could give me, it will be greatly appreciated!!!!

Had a suggestion (I'm a retired Fabric worker Air Force) use some spray glue on some card board and lay the templets down on the glued side, dry, and cut out… makes a stiffer templet. Use card board about as thick as a pizza box or even a pizza box if you like.

Where do you get the Vent motors wires that you have shown coming out of the vent motor (that you are pluging into the wall wart)? what are they called and do those wires come with the purchase of a vent motor? I want to buy the blower motor but the ones that pop up do not have wires sticking out that we can wire up to a wall wart. anyone know this answer? Also in your 2nd demonstration (has green guy with the hat), how did you attach the "Bracket" to the vent motor? does a screw just fit right into the vent motor thing that spins?

I'm working on a design for my 30 x 40 basement dark ride. The first few sections will be "some" of the following, mine,underground cavern, jungle, saguaro national forest, a scene with hills covered in wind turbines and then they begin to overload and explode. The last sections will be a Holy house rather than a haunted house, including Paul on the road to Damascus, Jesus healing the crippled man, Jesus walking on water, Jesus ascending into heaven and a cathedral with a pastor giving a sermon. Then on the way out a priest prop, will come out through a door and give his thanks for coming and blessings for the week.

This upload is a timeless classic. It has helped thousands of people from new beginners to experienced prop builders and I for one keep coming back to watch this recording several times a year, every year. Sometimes I come here for inspiration or to get my haunt mojo back and I often come here to pay homage to a great man who helped me so much. He spent a lot of time and effort to help me to make things that I deemed to be out of my skill or knowledgeable zone. I appreciated all Steve did for me and I miss the guy. Thank you for everything you have done for all of us and the whole halloween loving community. Best wishes 👍

@chadnoles567127 күн бұрын
I'm not sure if the speed would work but something like a disco ball motor fishing line and the bat of your choice (be careful what fishing line you use because some of it will go under a black light if you use one)
