I want to go this to my 2005 golf, I have some washed out roads where I live and I can get through it but very carefully, if I lifted 2in and added 27in tires I’d sit 3 inches higher

If you’re doing this job I recommend draining the oil and removing the oil filter. Otherwise you will waste time trying to get at the clamps. My F250 2004 didn’t have any special clamps. But it’s a very tight fit at the connections to the transmission. And release the plastic clip at the fan shroud before you break it and remove it entirely, while working, it’s 20 years old and you will break it. If you don’t you can reuse it.

I did not remove the fender: I left the bolts behind the door in place, and had a friend gently pull back the fender (hinging it outward) enough to slide the battery out. Those door area bolts are a nightmare and you will misalign the fender.

Instead of beating and ruining an extension all really had to do is turn the wheel, jack car up a little and wack the side of ball joint with hammer few good times it will pop loose and not hurt anything. Or do what other comment said and take the three ball joint bolts out and slide out. Instead of making the job harder than needed.

Just fyi there are original VW aluminum 3/4" spacers for the front struts. I bought them online. Can't remember the p/n. But you can find it in Etka. They're used in some world markets were road conditions merit them. They've slightly curved top and bottom faces to mate better. Great work 🎉

You can get 4motion (haldex gen 1 and also you can have a tune-box to have 50/50 on Front/Rear power) in Europe for like 3000$-5000$ 2.8 VR6 4motion - i don't know about the shippment costs but if people from poland are importing cars from USA/Japan/ESA then it might be worth it. I bought mine vr6 4motion for 2K 3 years ago - still beating it every single day - 350.000 km, this thing is amazing - in snow it handles perfectly.

I have a 2000 vw jetta and i want to do this, so i was wondering if you had any camber issues on it? Thats really the only thing i worry about on my car. Because i dont want to be buying new tires every 15k miles
@chevyj04214 ай бұрын
And I was wondering if you also had some cv axle issues on it
@KlaptOutOffroad3 ай бұрын
There's some camber on the front wheels, but it's hardly noticeable and while I don't put a lot of miles on this thing, i havent noticed any abnormal side wear in the approx 5000 miles I've put on it since the lift. Same goes with cv axles. I replaced the passenger one a few years before the lift and it's still going strong. I did have to replace the driver one not too long ago, but it was the original with over 250k miles on it so it was over due. Long story short, I can't say weather prolonged driving such as using it as a daily is going to cause premature wear of tires and components, but just using it for certain trips and only putting a few thousand miles a year on it seems to be working just fine for me.

@@KlaptOutOffroadI’m wondering if your method would work on my 2013
@KlaptOutOffroadАй бұрын
@johnsprague3521 I'm sure a similar setup can be applied, but I wouldn't know if these springs would work. Funny thing is I have a 2015 which should be more similar with your '13 than my MK4, but I've never once bothered to look to see how the suspension is set up in it (it's just my boring daily)

You can actually get 4wd golf's. The v6 4motion and r32 are both 4wd and come with a better naturally aspirated engine that you can slap a big old turbo on and get stupid bhp and torque. Just think about then adding the lift kit and springs with the big tyres your going to have an insane iff road golf

Me: 95 2dr XJ stock, and a jacked up 97 Sahara Wrangler, both 4.0 tough as nails beasts. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE what this truck is capable of with MINOR adjustments. You’ve got a nice rig there dude, fix it up! Get some clearance, lift, MTs, a couple of things, that beast is still raring to go! Wise investment! 😎

This is like a giant commercial for OnX Offroad. Fromt the road that was on the map, but didn't really exist, to the rescue team using google maps. And should I go adventuring through there during spring run off, I will be sure to bring a land anchor. Oh, for the tire trick, you need a thin trench in the middle for the winch cable to be in. Kind of like you bad, but deeper.
@KlaptOutOffroad7 ай бұрын
OnX has it's perks, but personally I'm not a fan of using it out in the field. More of a Gaia fan. Had the rescue party stopped to research the route and input the coordinates that were sent rather than blindly following google, the rescue would have gone a lot smoother. A land anchor or traction boards used before I dug myself down to the axles would have helped immensely, and yes, I've since researched the proper technique for spare tire anchors. All in all, Id say this is more of a public service announcement for going prepared.
