Thanks Amanda for all you do. I think I could have definitely benefited from your program. I have been doing BLE for going on 4 years and just recently came in and sat down. I have struggled a lot and it is truly a miracle that I stayed through the pain. I have not done that before. BLE is such a blessing and I am extremely grateful I made it, but I realize that many people would not have made it through so many slips and binges. Some of us need more. My 2 mastermind groups and my involvement in listening and doing my work has served me. Hang in there everyone because I am 64 and have found a peace with food and my life that I have longed since I was a child. Great vlog Susan!!

wow, so TRUE what you are saying here about 1) dientity shift - this is not a temp fix this is a way of lie 2) stop using food for emotional reasons. And yes, mind blowing to NOT have a New Year's resolution about food.

Wow, I'm so inspired by these food options! I'd love to know how to weigh and account for chia as protein and also to know what type of oats you soaked overnight (old fashioned rolled or steel cut) for a cold breakfast?
@Brightlineeating7 күн бұрын
Hi there! 2 ounces of chia seeds = 1 protein on the standard food plan. However, that's an awful lot of seeds and most people will split it with whatever milk they are using for protein in their oats. So 1 oz seeds and 4 oz milk would equal one protein. Depending how you like the consistency of your oats, you could also do something like 1 oz seeds, 2 oz milk and 1/2 oz nuts for less liquid. Oat choice can depend on personal preference. Generally, any type is acceptable: quick, rolled, or steel cut. Some folks avoid quick oats because they are more processed than the other options, and rolled oats are more processed than steel cut. So if you want the least processed option, go with steel cut. Other than that, you might have a personal preference for texture. Steel cut are firmer and chewier. You can even combine them to your liking--1/2 oz rolled + 1/2 oz steel cut, for example. If you are more carb sensitive and have sugar spikes when you eat oats, you could make sure that they are eating steel cut oats and see if that mitigates sugar spikes. The glycemic index for steel cut oats is lowest, rolled oats is in the middle, and quick oats are the highest. We hope this helps! 🥰

Mama’s is the best! Clean fresh food prepared to perfection. We had grilled beef in papaya and fresh fish with fresh veggies, split between the 3 of us. Unless you are just going to the bar at Mamas, you have to have reservations many months in advance, so we always reserve. The thing is - food is so often the focus of the vacation, - what restaurants we can try - so it’ s a new thought to go back to Maui with the focus staying on the experience of the island, family and friends. I was so out of shape on our last trip there and can’t wait to go back in a bright bod! I’m so happy to hear you experienced the wonderful place it is. Favorite place on earth!

I did well during my cruise on November. For similar reasons. My focus was not on the food, but on my friend, the relaxing activities on the ship, and the beautiful destinations. So happy for you and your daughter. Memories of meaningful moments shared are precious.

I think a lot we use food as entertainment. Something to do. Where as if we put it back in it's sole purpose of nourishment, and find other things to do, that may work better for us.

I disagree. People CAN be happy and satisfied even if they're overweight or eating what they want. Not me, but... Life is not all about food and weightfor everyone
@RenelleLeBlanc-Scott11 күн бұрын
Agreed. However, if you’re satisfied, genuinely happy and feeling good about yourself and the food you’re consuming, then you’d be in a totally different playground. Remember, SPT said that those in this particular playground are (and I’m paraphrasing here): generally unhappy, have low self esteem and constantly ruminate about food consumption and their weight. If you’re not in that cohort of people, there’s NO NEED to surrender 😊! My food addiction is relentless and makes my life absolutely miserable.

WOW! I’ve never added a comment before, but I literally had to pause the video halfway thru and had chills b/c everything you were so eloquently saying about the progression of late stage addiction hit me like a ton of bricks and I had to write in my journal what a reality check it was after “progressively” living in denial and negative brain adaptations for years! Of course we hear and say “addiction is chronic and progressive,” but i think this was the first time I’ve ever heard the spin that “so is recovery” and MY hope is that THIS will provide hope (to myself and others!) Thank you for sharing this video; that I am saving/bookmarking as a “recovery favorite.” ;)
