Like “fighting for peace” or “screwing for virginity”, gassing for lower emissions is a logical contradiction. Hoping for more teal at the next election..

how it works. the multi nationals (owned by israel and US) come in and say we can get you a couple of jobs and in return you subsidize us and pay for a large piece of the setup costs under, The Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018. we will also position you for a very lucrative job after politics. but we dont have the money for that? yes you do, just buy US bonds to fund the money you are going to give us (this why australia is running up a massive US debt bill 56%) its free money. in return we take your resources and pay zero tax. and you will be happy. (in Norway they tax the resources sector at 60% of profits and they still make a shit load of money) its called a transfer of wealth, its free money for the already super rich at almost zero risk to them. (the same people also own the FED where you get the bonds) but the people will see that we will become debt slaves to the US. if it all come crashing down because the fossil fool industry is destroying the climate, we dont hold any of the risk YOU DO and the debt. they wont wake up they are to self centred and to docile to do anything, they still have no woken up to a rigged political system yet after all these years. Why do you think we stopped the roll out of concentrated solar thermal power in Australia? Because it would have lead to cheap power prices and revied your manufacturing industry (down from 25% in 1960 to 6% now) which would have made you competitive against us and china hence be able to repay your debt. How could we control you without the debt? Simple. Stop voting labor, liberal and national. Simple. It really is that simple. you only know this because of activists. grow a brain.

I'm sure this is all to suit companies and to get votes in WA and QLD. But a long while ago Tim flannery wrote( in the weather makers) that gas would be a transition fuel to smooth out renewables because quick response time of gas generation. We have got an awful lot of Coal fired power plants well past their prime, Renewable and grid upgrades are getting scary backlash thanks to effective right-wing media campaign, and apparently even 52% of the idiotic populous support Nuclear Power generation (guardian essential poll). I know CCS is bumkin , but does Gas still a transition fuel ? my personal belief is that we should at least make some $$ out of the gas we export before the planet kicks the bucket !!!

Only watched the first 5 minutes and nothing new.We all know supermarket tactics even before covid. If they are going to put the price up on an item first put it on special half the price of new price then a week later before you know it it's gone up. Asking questions and getting answers not going to change anything. What can be done about it, absolutely nothing in a free market.

You can't produce most of your electricity from intermittent renewables without sufficient gas backup, which Australia doesn't have and is not investing in. Gas is a transition fuel that is absolutely necessary if you want to rapidly decarbonise.

reality trumps ideology. gas will be used to run turbines to produce electricity to prop up the 'renewables' that don't work full time. the danger is they will ram fracking through, ruining water aquifers and farmland in the process. better to build modern coal power until we can develop nuclear stations. RE is so inefficient that it consumes more resources to produce the same power, so worse for 'climate change' if that is your schtick. this is about engineering not woke beliefs.

I may agree with he proposes on Green Deal and taxation/housing/education but I believe he is completely wrong what the biggest danger is. For him looks like US tech companies. For me authoritarian expansion of China and their vassal Russia. It already cost half a million lifes in Ukraine - but he focuses on Gaza with 20x fewer deaths. Regarding avoidance of authoritarianism - we lost it in Russia before 2014 and I think it is also years too late for China.

Nearly all renewable energy supplies don’t produce energy when the sun goes down and coal plants are being shut down (because they don’t function efficiently within the supply of renewables … so what other fuel can you burn? GAS!!… Gas turbine generation is quick (and “clean” compared to coal) and buffers the atrocious reliability being experienced due to shutting down stable coal generation and relying on unstable renewable sourced energy. The government doesn’t want you connecting or using gas anymore… because Australia already has a limited supply (due to allowing gas companies control over exports), yet now more than ever the government needs that gas (that households would have otherwise utilised) to supply our energy grid in the midst of this Net-Zero nonsense. On top of that they also pushed EV’s!!… which are mostly charging overnight! Work that out??

The Labor government has done some good things, however their record on environmental issues is extremely disappointing. The continuation of harvesting of native forests and land clearing is a related issue that is mostly ignored. How can we possibly expect CO2 emissions to reduce when governments allow the destruction of the trees that absorb CO2 and produce oxygen. It's absurd. It's almost as though we have to continue to degrade our environment because it isn't cost-effective not to do so. It's getting hard to be optimistic.
