Nice work thank you.. I had broadcasted some cleome seeds way too heavy will try to thin. Also Tryed some marigolds and small zinnia together and those not enough will try rows with 3” space next time.

Thanks so much for the tip. It’s very helpful, and even more helpful when we go shopping for cut ranunculus because they charge a lot for a bunch. I bought and planted ranunculus recently. I have some questions I hope you can help: 1. I can see a group of 2/3 bulbs with 1 main bulb starting to open big. But once the main bulb finishes blooming how do I get the other bulbs (of the same stem) to open as big as the main one? Currently they open into very tiny flower or stay as little bulbs. 2. If I want to get some flower for the vase, do I cut just the main bulb or I need to cut the whole stem to the bottom which includes all the small bulbs to promote more flowerings? The issue is the small bulbs never open up in a vase and even if some do they are also very tiny. Your help will be very appreciated.

There's a variety that I grow that can grow in zone 2. I don't know what it's name is but they have been growing where they shouldn't for a dozen years. I have a hardscape around my house and they are popping up between the rocks and the brick pathway.

Use a horticultural grade sand. Not to be confused with construction sand.

Hi Antonio, can you please share how we can save the corms at the end of their season?
@AntonioValenteFlower
@AntonioValenteFlower Жыл бұрын
Very easy! Simply store the corms dry and at room temperature. Wait until the plants have gone dormant before digging the corms.

Hi Antonio, can you please show me where to cut the stem? On a plant like zinnias it’s easy to see the proper spot but for ranuncs and anemones do I go all the way to the earth?
@AntonioValenteFlower
@AntonioValenteFlower Жыл бұрын
Hi Audrey. Yes, with ranunculus you can cut all the way down the stem.

I’ve read up and watched videos of pinching plants but it still confuses me lol. I have a small dahlia plant and it has just four buds but it’s gotten stagnant I think. So hopefully I can figure something out 😅

You gained a subscriber for your clear and concise video. This is really helpful for a new dahlia plant mom. I have a question and hope you can help me. I am presprouting my dahlias and one of them is already about a foot tall but it only has about 3 pairs of leaves. It’s not as bushy as yours. Is it already safe to pinch them at this point?

Very useful advice, thank you. Just one question, I am planting bulbs for cutting as well as leaving tulips in the ground. I am cutting them only for myself, for the vase. If I cut tulips, just the stems, without foliage, and without uprooting them with the bulb, will they come back next year? Thank you. 🙏🏻 🙏🏻

What a great, concise, video. Thanks. Near the end, you show a tall, unpinched stem about to flower. I thought you were going to say sacrifice the bud and pinch the stalk, but you didn’t. I’m assuming that if you had pinched, the best you might expect for the season, would be a dahlia bush with no flowers. Am I right? You’d never have guessed it but I’m new to this. I was pondering this very question at about 6am this morning, but decided I should research before taking the bull by the horns. I have at least three plants in this state but another 10 that are slower growing and salvageable I think. I’ll certainly pinch those but the first three? Leave them and do better next year? R

I didn't know I was supposed to do this now many of mine are so tall! some 4' with thick center stems. Is it ever too late to pinch? or when I go to cut do I maybe just go a little further down the first time?

I have just started my Dahlia passion. I have Black Dahlia and Red XXL Cancun Dahlia. They're all in a flower bed not containers this year. The XXL Cancun Dahlia are supposed to be 18" but they're short and mounding with many flowers. How do I get it to grow UP? I want bouquets. Should I be pinching them? Is it watering? With the Black Dahlias they're about 8 inches in height 1 plant is 1 stalk and a few leaves, the other looks like it has several plants coming up from the flower bed. But each plant coming up has a 1 singular stalk. Help? Thank you.
@AntonioValenteFlower
@AntonioValenteFlower 2 жыл бұрын
Definitely pinch! You’ll encourage the dahlias to branch out and produce more flowers. And yes, dahlias need to be watered. If you aren’t getting rain, make sure you’re watering, particularly if it’s a hot season.
