This has been the best poppy harvesting video I have see on KZbin 👍🏾 Thank you so much!

Zone 5b here, I'm looking sorrowfully at my first ever tray of Icelandic poppy seedlings that I'll be planting out in May. Poor things. Hope they make it! I'll start some more in July - thanks for these tips!

How long of a vase life do you get? If you use the hot water method do you put in for 10 seconds?

Thanks I have been plating poppies and its been hit and mostly miss - but excited to try your method here in BC Canada!

There's a variety that I grow that can grow in zone 2. I don't know what it's name is but they have been growing where they shouldn't for a dozen years. I have a hardscape around my house and they are popping up between the rocks and the brick pathway.

What do you find your vaselife on these to be??? Thank you for this wonderful information
@AntonioValenteFlower2 жыл бұрын
It varies. I’ve had them last up to a full week, but I’d say 5 days is more typical

I know the Colibri poppies are supposed to have larger flowers than Champagne Bubbles, but how much larger are they? In the pictures I've seen, they look huge. What's the diameter of the flowers?

Love your channel! I've enjoyed growing Iceland poppies this past year but am curious where you find the Colibri seeds? I have the champagne bubbles and would love to try the Colibri variety!! Having trouble finding them for sale in the US! Thanks! Keep the great videos coming! :)

Hey Antonio, i started my icelandic poppies in covered dome peat trays maybe 4 days ago (May14th) in zone 5A. I just noticed that they're starting to come up. Would love your advice on what to do?! My garden beds are in a very exposed full sun, hot hot area (Montreal QC Summers) so I'm not sure what I should do with them? Do I just leave them in their trays for a lot longer, I don't want the peat cups to rot either so just wondering your overall thoughts here - thanks.

Wait till they’re large enough to handle, and then plant them outdoors. They love cool temperatures. Do you have extra seed? If so, plant earlier next year. Or, even better, do an autumn planting for next year
@BStephensonn3 жыл бұрын
@@AntonioValenteFlower i have extras, what should I do with the new spouted ones?
@AntonioValenteFlower3 жыл бұрын
@@BStephensonn Continue to grow them. Once they’re large enough to handle, harden them off and plant outdoors. They’ll bloom this season. They may just be a little late

Great video thanks Antonio! Had no idea they were super hardy and that the tunnel isn't necessary... unless you have squirrels.😂 Do you water them in the winter?
@AntonioValenteFlower3 жыл бұрын
The tunnel keeps moisture in through the winter. But as things begin to warm up in late winter/early spring, I have to keep an eye on them and start watering
