I’m looking to make a sauce for ground lamb spaghetti with a yogurt sauce.
@lunchforlouie26 күн бұрын
My advice would be to cook your ground lamb with whichever aromatics herbs and seasonings. A bit of tomato paste as well. For the sauce, 2 cups of Greek yogurt, 1/4 cup of the pasta water, 2 tablespoons of olive oil. The zest and juice of half a lemon. Then take the cooked lamb (and which ever veg or ingredients have gone in with it) And gently fold it through the cooked pasta with the yogurt sauce. You could add something sweet like raisins or something punchy like olives. Top with parsley. Let me know what you come up with.

This was assuming you’re using about 1lb of ground lamb.

I'm mostly libertarian, so this might sound weird, but most people eating this should not be covered by the insurance I'm forced to pay for. before you lose your mind, 'most' is the key word. If your BMI is less than 25 and this is just an infrequent indulgence, then rock on!

@lunchforlouie3 ай бұрын
Hey @giodirusso1946 Thankyou very much. I really should make another handful of videos just on Greek Yogurt. It is as important as milk in our house. I use it a lot. Appreciate the comment. Cheers
@uma2222 ай бұрын
I can make it even simpler. Just Greek yogurt with two ingredients, the juice from half a lime, some salt and black pepper. Fresh as can be. I use this instead of mayo to make my style Russian salad. Boiled potato, diced, some Fuji apple diced, some ham diced and that's all one needs, fresh and not heavy. For those, who prefer freshness and lightness to heavy and oily taste. 👍🙏

a salad to me isnt cooked but this does look like a great idea for mixing fresh greens with roasted veggies, i do love roasted brussel sprouts. for a robust salad i like combining chopped raw broccoli and green peas with a peanut sauce i make myself. doesn't take too long and its almost a meal in itself (definitely is if i add poached chicken), and makes really great leftovers. some cilantro and green onions if im feeling fancy do well too.

Where did you find the American cheese? real hard to find here in Aus unless you order a commercial amount. Love your vids man keep up the good work!
@lunchforlouie5 ай бұрын
Hey BenKizzee, I've been told that: "American here. The Kraft singles I can get here (Australia) are American cheese..." So any of the single style "cheeses" that have their own individual plastic. When I want the orange colour I will usually use the Woolies "Smokey Cheese Slices". Essentially avoiding anything that says Tasty or Cheddar, stick with ambiguous cheese.

Everything looks good and should taste wonderful, but the star of any legit Vietnamese banh mi should be the bread. It doesn't look or sound like a flakey or crispy on your bites. Consider buying Vietnamese baguettes, they are very inexpensive and easy to make if you want to try it for yourself.
@lunchforlouie7 ай бұрын
You’re 1000% correct, it was the one thing I was very conscious of. I am, geographically challenged (new term coined by me) when it comes to Vietnamese bakeries. I am going to try my hand at baking them myself, I’ll circle back when I do and let you know how I do. Appreciate you.

Pro tip: throw those charred peppers in a sealed container while still hot (zip bag or bowl with a lid) leave them for 20 min and the skin slides off. No need to use a spoon or eat any charred bits.

I was talking with a couple guys on a forum who worked at pimento bros. I asked about this as I’d seen them included in other recipes. They said they weren’t in there in the few years they worked there. As the original pimento bro ethos was to make the sandwiches as cheap as possible for truckers. That being said, I didn’t ask when they worked there. I’ll add them next time and see how it goes.
