if you plan to bake more cakes, breads, etc then convection oven. But if you plan to air fry more like french fries, chicken, etc then air fryer. Convection oven can air fry for sure, but it's better suited for baking. With air fryer, your baking options start to get limited because of it's size, shape and the way it circulates air - not all baking recipes will work in an air fryer. I'd say consult people who already have either of these and know their experience, make a decision accordingly. Of course, do your research too on youtube. I highly recommend you to watch this video titled - "Air fryers are simpler than you think, but still pretty neat" by Technology Connections channel. It will give you much needed clarity about this topic.

You can bake cookies and cake. But for larger sizes / quantities, you may prefer an oven.

Nope. Unless it is burnt at the bottom, in which case a little scrubbing may help. I do it after the wash only in places rhe burn makes have not gone.
