Kevin, are you still getting free or discounted room rates from casino credit? I wonder if that's easy or you're just lucky. Well your cruises sound fun so enjoy! I plan on taking my first cruise to the Carribean out of Galveston this year and hope to find a good deal on CruisePlum (thanks for the tip).

Not today. Kind of looks like the same place but it was super crowded with locals. They say there’s a festival starting today. I got bad vibes everywhere. We weren’t harassed or anything but the people acted like Americans weren’t welcome. We walked into a really nice looking coffee shop about 2 in the afternoon and a lady came in after us and said they were closed? It looked like only local people there and the sign said open. We got weird looks? We walked into several shops and were completely ignored. Felt strange. We needed a few things from a drug store we couldn’t get on the ship. Walgreens had line around the block outside. We found what we needed but the pharmacy was packed as well and took about an hour. Today this is not the same island that this guy is promoting. At least the weather was great. We travel quite a bit and lately by cruise ship. This place felt strange to us. I’m glad we didn’t invest more time or an excursion here. I wish it would have been like this video. Hopefully the other islands we are supposed to stop at in the Virgin Islands will be better.

This is the problem with Villa Vie. The cost doesn’t really make sense. The issue is the monthly fee. Why should people in outside cabins pay so much more than an inside when you’ve already paid for the cabin. The monthly expenses of someone in an outside should be the same as the inside. BUT, I think their biggest problem right now is the risk of going bankrupt. They can’t get enough cabins sold (probably because of the risk) and as long as cabins remain empty, the risk of going bankrupt increases. They should be doing anything they can to get cabins full on segments and then get their balance sheet in order, reducing the risk of going bankrupt.

Hungarian here. I agree! I was about to comment on the beer clinking thing, but you actually had it all correct. The pronouncing of Budapest: of course we prefer Budapesht, but we know it's not a well-known thing so we don´t mind. Don't ever confuse Budapest with Bucharest though, that's a big faux pas.

I'm curious where you like to go to snorkel in Roatan? We have been a couple of times and have really loved snorkeling there too. Our first visit we went to a place on the North Shore called Big Bite Adventures at the recommendation of a local which was great, but we needed to get on a boat to get to the reef. When we were there a couple of weeks ago, we went to a resort in West Bay called Kimpton Grand Roatan Resort and it was awesome! We bought day passes to the resort which got us chairs and umbrellas and use of the pool/restaurants etc but the best part was that you could swim right out to the gorgeous reef. They also had clear bottom kayaks to use if preferred. The whole family loved it, and it is a beautiful place to spend the day.

Be sure to tell everyone that these lifts cause additional stress to the front suspension and CV joints. My CVs had to be replaced after 30,000 miles and the repair gave the truck shop headaches galore. A very difficult and expensive repair to say the least. Inspect your CV boots regularly. But at least it looks good. Can't remove the lift since I have larger tires and wheels now. Stuck.

You really dodged a bullet on this one when you decided you could cruise much more cheaply on other, less risky cruise lines than on Villa Vie. Did you hear Villa Vie just had their lawyer write a Cease and Desist letter to Backroads Tourist because he discusses verifiable facts that VV tries to hide? As a cruise vlogger I doubt you would have been happy with this kind of strong arming had you gone on their ship. Lots of vloggers and bloggers discuss and review cruise lines, but VV tries hard to censor their passengers, an anyone not on the ship, and prevent them from saying anything that isn't purely positive. VV just "postponed" (their words, others might say cancelled is a more fair description) Antarctica because they didn't get their ship Polar certified. Cruise lines do cancel Antarctica, but normally due to really rough and potentially hazardous conditions. However VV never made the changes to their ship and never got Polar certified, but continued to sell the bucket list destination of Antarctica including to people who bought the South American segment which was supposed to include Antarctica. They let those people board in Panama City on December19 and only told them on December 27 that Antarctica was "postponed " to 2027 or 2028 (some would say it is more likely to never happen because it makes no business sense to have a Polar capable ship and then only use it to sail there for 4 days every 3.5 years). They knew since summer 2024 when they didn't make the extensive Polar upgrades that the ship couldn't go there. That's just 1 of the things they are mad at Backroads Tourist about because he discussed Polar certification rea back in nova and said he doubted Villa Vie could go there and that upset their residents and was, of course true.
