Thus far, I am part of the 8% who will keep my 2023 390 Adv (got it new on sale in 2024). There's no difference cp. to the 2024. I am 6 feet tall and wouldn't want any taller a seat. I use it on backroads and will never hit really rough trails with it. I can add cruise if I wish or change wheels if I want to drop a lot more money. No thanks, I am very happy as is. (And of course, I've kitted it out perfectly and have named it.)

@OneOldManRidingАй бұрын
Hello Matt, I cannot disagree with you. Aprillia showed with the 660 that they were willing to spend the resources to make the best bike it's it's segment. If they build upon that success, nothing will touch the Tuareg 457. I do know that Aprillia needs more service centers though. I have one thirty min away, but I have friends in multiple states with 90+ minute trips to the closest one. - Frank

@OneOldManRiding yeah, dealership network is a problem. It keep buyers away. 2025 will tell me everything I need to know about Aprilia from continued Tuareg experience. Need to run up the hard mileage.

The 660 hasnt really worked out like that, An Aprilia at resale time is like what? What kind a bike? The Tuareg had great hype but not as much years of hype as a T7. It hasnt crushed anything. Its pretty heavy and big for what it is.
@advmattАй бұрын
@bradsanders6954 have you ridden one? It is a far superior ride to the T7. It weighs the same as the T7 and performs much better in its stock form. Tuareg owners are very satisfied. Best bike I have ever ridden and owned.

All very good points well made, I think the 390 will be a great bike for taller riders over the 450MT, I would struggle at that seat height. I am very happy with my 450MT, the higher seat is all day riding comfortable and still allows me to get both feet on the floor. I think it is great that there will be so much more choice in this size of adventure bikes.

This new trend of 400-500cc capable mini adv bikes are becoming increasingly popular. Of all the offerings Ibex450, 390AR, HIMI450, Honda NX500 and the three bikes currently in development= Kawasaki KLE500, BMW450GS, and Aprilia450 I believe the 390AR might be the most attractive from a spec sheet standpoint and esthetics (subjective) Ownership is a different story though. With all these new bikes coming out, it's hard telling which bike will have the least amount of gremlins, recalls, parts availability and 1st year aftermarket support. Those are all important aspects of bike ownership, especially if the owner only.owms one bike, and wants to ride it. But from a spec sheet standpoint, this ktm390ar is, imo, the most aggressive looking, has lots of features the others lack, and it looks good too. It's interesting to see the trends in the market sway over the years. As riders age, many are closing the lighter options with 'just enough' power. It wasn't that long ago when the liter+ bikes were all the rage, then right after covid-the midsized market blew up, and now manufacturers are dumping millions into research and development of sub 500cc adv bikes. I think the only major manufacturers which do not produce a 450-500cc adv in development is Yamaha, and Suzuki- but I've heard rumors that the vstrom650 is going away and a small cc mini adv bike is taking its place by 2026. I know one thing is for sure, if it were me, and if my 2 choices were the 390ar or the cfmoto, I'd pick the KTM based solely on parts availability, dealer support and past experiences and interactions with real world owners, not just spec sheet buyers. There are many reports of guys who purchased cfmoto sxs and atvs and were disappointed to find the parts were cheap and inferior- but when they tried to replace said parts- no parts were avaliable. I'll be darned if I spend thousands on a bike, and siple things like seals, levers, air filter ls and brake pads are not avaliable. Those stories are out there. A little investigation is all it takes. I haven't heard of any problems like that with the motorcycles, but they just came to market and time will tell. I'm basing my choice solely on cfmotos proven business model on their sxs' and atvs. It is a bummer that it doesn't come with the Xplr, instead it's the whimpy 43mm apex suspension which lacks full adjustability. I've been keeping my eye on this 450-500cc market for a bike for my father who is almost 70.

I am currently on a 4cm lowered 701 Enduro, which is 89cm high. Even that I am buying 30” jesns that height is no problem for me, as it is light and I am used to it. As long as the seat of the 390 is not too wide this will work for me. Another important spec we are missing is tank volume = range! The fact that I can put together a USD fork assembly from a DRZ400SM directly onto a DR650 using only Suzuki parts shows how little innovation and consumer care they have. I love what they use to stand for, but I don't recognize what Suzuki has become. They have proven we don't listen, and we don't care.
