#4. I like the high contrast black and white near the deep clear red and the sharp, clearly defined lines playing against the desaturated blue/grey with the torn jagged edges and the messy inner of yellow/orange/cream. I like the shape of the desaturated blue piece.

Inspiring as always Jackie -- I'm truly an art snob when it comes to using magazine papers (someone in there insists it has to be hand-painted) and I consequently spend much more time painting papers than I do making collage -- I definitely need to cut up some magazine papers into shapes/colors and just *play* *with* *them!!!*
@jackieschomburgart3 күн бұрын
Haha! I remember this pet peeve of yours 😆 Perhaps you could use some hand painted papers along with the magazines to make it more to your liking? 😉 And yes, by all means, PLAY! (Psst - that’s the secret to the magazine collage - the stakes are so low there’s little fear of “wasting” anything precious. 🤗)

Hi, Jackie I just threw a val-pack in the recycle bin yesterday because I already have enough to work with for a lifetime. When I was junk journaling I had boxes of cereal boxes and junk mail. I finally realized that I would never be able to keep up with all the paper stuff that enters this household. I figured if I needed any particular thing for a project it would be here within a week. I put most of it in the recycle bin. I do sit down on a couch every morning and watch KZbin. In front of me is a large box of images for glue booking, but with no table handy it is difficult to work on a glue book here. Thanks to you I now have a small pile of index cards. Using some of those glue book images on collages will be much more lap friendly and start my day off nicely. Your suggestions were great and enjoyed watching you collage. Nancy

the video doesn't make anxious, but i'm really curious to know how/why you're making your decisions to use or not use each element. ie, wht did left piece feel done? why the right piece didn't feel done. why did you put the collage pieces where you put them?
@jackieschomburgart6 күн бұрын
The short answer is: because that’s what felt good to me ❤️ You will make different choices in your art and that is a good thing. “Artistic style” is essentially a nickname for describing all of an artists preferences and decision making. To develop your own style, I’d recommend creating as often as possible. Make a huge pile of art. Then another. And another. Find our what feels good to YOU ❤️

how can i make a transparent paint out of a regular body paint?
@jackieschomburgart6 күн бұрын
Are you wanting to thin your paint down from heavy body paint to fluid paint (thinner but not lighter in color)? If so, you can try adding mediums (high flow, fluid medium, etc.) to the thicker paint and mixing it to thin it out. If you’re looking to make opaque paint (can’t see through it) transparent, you can make it a bit more see-through by adding mediums, but it will still look a bit “chalky” and not as transparent as just starting with transparent paint.
@cynthiathomas2626 күн бұрын
@@jackieschomburgart i don't want to thin the body of the paint so much as have a transparent paint without buying another tube of paint. ie, i have a tube of magenta paint that's opaque; i want to have this same color but transparent.
@jackieschomburgart6 күн бұрын
Got it. Then I’d suggest adding medium to it to make it less opaque. 👍
