For yogurt using pasteurized milk the manual says set time to 3 minutes, but the minimum time is 30 minutes. Any idea how to set the time to 3 minutes in the yogurt mode? Thanks

I have a 3 quart should I put 1/2 cup of liquid or keep it at 1 cup?
@PressureCookingToday
@PressureCookingToday Күн бұрын
It depends on the recipe. If you're making a sauce with the cooking liquid, don't change it. But if you're steaming veggies or something, 1/2 cup should work well.

Thank you! Personally, I prefer to do it this way; browning the meat gives it a burnt crispy taste and adds different layers of flavour into the stew. I would brown the vegetables too, cutting them into chunky pieces. For those who just want to dump everything in the pot to cook, to each his own, if the purpose is just to fill the belly. Then there’s no need to add herbs and spices even!!!

@PressureCookingToday
@PressureCookingToday 8 күн бұрын
If you are pressure cooking you close the steam valve to keep the steam inside until the time is up then release the pressure kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZLJo4CwaZalpsk. If you're sauteing don't use a lid. If you're slow cooking, leave the steam release valve open.

@PressureCookingToday
@PressureCookingToday 8 күн бұрын
@@stuartsneddon8919 when you're slow cooking you should have the steam release valve in the venting position so that the lid doesn't build up pressure and lock. If you have a glass lid from a pots and pans set that fits your pressure cooker, you can use that instead of the lid if you prefer.

That Pioneer Women Pressure cooker is very reasonalbly priced. at $59.00. I'm definitey an InstaPot Max person.. and yes they are a little more exspensive, $159 for 6 qt. but that's the deal. I think next time through I'd still say with instapot,.. but get their 10qt pro. I make a lot of homemade bone broth.. and while I can get 2qt + 1 pint of bone broth in the 6 qt...it would be nice to get more at one processing session, which the 10 qrt would yeild.

Now I have to figure out how to cook the partially cooked brown rice that I love to use. I have seen many recipes say to start pressure cooking with high pressure and high heat, then change to high pressure and low heat. I don't see any way to change the temperature for any pressure cook setting. Please help!
@PressureCookingToday
@PressureCookingToday 15 күн бұрын
You can't control the temperature for pressure cooking, you can only switch between high and low pressure. Some people will tell you to use the saute function and adjust the saute function to high to help whatever you're cooking come to pressure faster. But I haven't found much advantage to doing that.
