As someone who’s autistic I’ve grown up watching Minty Christmas since I was young and minty was always my favorite character and now upon rewatching I realize I liked minty because I understood why she did what she did and how she acts. It may have not been intended but Minty is definitely Autistic or has ADHD.

Another flaw with G3 was it's lack of threats to the Ponies, even if there were no big bad villains or monsters like in G1 or G4, the least they could have done was like bring in some characters who were Bullies to the Ponies(because bullies are something relatable to all kids), like if the Ponies were doing something big & important, the Bullies would show up, break stuff, wreck things, throw stuff, insult & injure the Ponies in some ways, and the Ponies would have to work together to overcome the Bullies & drive them away(with them swearing revenge afterwards), then the Ponies would fix the problems caused by the Bullies, such stuff would have added a lot more depth to the story of each G3 movie, special & short, I mean what fun is there in a world where everything is a "Happy La-la Land" where nothing exciting or dangerous happens, Whimsey Weatherbe was the closest G3 had to an Antagonist, but it was more of an issue of Confusion then simply having a character who is bad for the sake of having a bad guy, if Hasbro played it smart and brought in some Bullies to cause trouble for the Ponies, I'm sure it would have been less boring & received less hate during it's run.

As an autistic person, Minty brings me much joy (: Not to mention, Tabitha St Germain’s voice work is always incredible, she’s easily one of my favorite voice actors ever. I didn’t get to watch any MLP growing up, but I used to be so so obsessed with the PBS show Martha Speaks where she voices the titular dog Martha and a few other characters, and learning about her prolific involvement throughout MLP history has very much fueled the fire of my MLP hyperfixations

I remember as a kid, my family had a Minty tree ornament. Of course, since I was an older kid, I thought I was too cool for mlp and was embarrassed. But now that I don't care so much, I see why she's so iconic It's odd they erased her by the time the core 7 episodes were coming out. I assume it's because she's green and that's a "boy" color, but she's easily one of the best from g3!

I like how when the G3 ponies get brought to G4 the G3.5 ponies ended up younger than the original G3 ponies.

(Edited) I wrote this before finishing the video and now I'm seeing the screenshot but oh well There was once this interactive game on the Pony website where you interacted with the G3 ponies during the early Core 7 era. You could learn snippets about each pony's personality, see each pony's individual houses, go to a theater and listen to songs or watch Meet the Ponies chapters. Then finally you could prepare a party by dressing up Rainbow, designing a cake and decorating the party room. Once that party started, the ponies would enter through the door one by one, with the last one entering being the birthday girl. Minty was also included in the cast of this game, (at least during the party bit) even though she isn't a Core 7 pony. Hinting that she was probably meant to be the 8th main character.

i grew up with this era (and g3 as somewhat a whole). i loved the meet the ponies special as a kid, rewatching it over and over. my favorite being toolaroola's. as of recently, ive began to rewatch g3 and ive realized as a adult how much childhood whimsy i had put into my memories of the meet the ponies and core 7 era. its sad but, im sorry child me. this was pretty bad. oh well, more power to the autistic child with no friends besides her pony dolls! i still will have fond memories of this era however, and the core 7, nostalgia's sake. it just sucks to go back to something you thought you loved when in reality its bad. also, i agree, people sleep on twinkle wish adventure.

A tad off topic, but this reminds me of what they did with the Thomas franchise at the start of Season 8 with the Steam Team. Or even more recently with the Big World, Big Adventures bs. They replaced a lot of classic characters in favor of new ones, likely to promote diversity and be more "girl" friendly (despite it originally being aimed for boys.) Like with MLP's Core 7, it was the higher ups in charge of these decisions. Maybe that's no coincidence considering these are both toy based franchises... except in MLP's case, it did no favors to hyper-focus on a few select characters (with the occasional Narrow Gauge engine episodes, whom they also botched during the HiT era). Plus, both HiT era TtTE and Core 7 MLP both suffered in writing. Though it is enlightening to see someone praise Twinkle Wish Adventure so highly. Looking back, at least it had more substance than the two or three G 3.5 episodes they produced. As a former brony, obviously I had a prejudice towards Gen 3 (esp. G3.5's and 3.6's art style, which I still consider nightmare-fuel), but lately I've grown a slight appreciation for it. Not as good as Gen 1, but more substance than G 1.5!
