this was back when they were actually made for little girls. They were really soft and pretty looking, appealing for their demographic. You see the toys that are being produced today and they don’t even have brushable hair. Their cute and all, but they seem like figurines, not toys- and not made for young children as the intended demographic. I remember my sister and i learned how to braid hair with our ponies- its a little thing like that, but it really made the toys more interactive and lovable. My niece who’s only 7 likes the old toys and shows too. i think they’re just more appealing.

I like how Tabitha St. Germain made Derpy’s voice similar to Minty’s Kimono is such a cool character, too. It’s a shame she only really appeared in the first special and never again. She has so much story potential, like why doesn’t she live in town and why does she possess so much knowledge? Is she some kind of pony God? G3 really would have benefitted from some TV show, it’s such a shame it only got specials. They were good specials, but I want to see more of the characters! I don't think Minty is dumb tbh. She just misses the jokse and over-explains things because she doesn't pick up on figures of speech that well, and she communicates with other people so that she can be understood. Other things like her particularism with the candy cane and it breaking can be explained as lack of coordination and needing things to be completely "right", not uncommon with autism. Exc. Perhaps autistic people can be seen as dumb by people because they do not understand social cues and have a tendency to communicate in ways allistic people do not understand. You have to keep in mind that someone like Minty is probably trying to overcompensate for their difficulties navigating social interactions, which can lead to them seeming unfocused because they have to keep more things in mind at any given time than the average person.

I relate to minty so hard. For manyyy reasons , but a big one is I literally do the same exactly laugh mannerism she does! Like exactly! Just in my pitch and sound of voice (deeper and def less nasally obviously, she’s a cartoon pony lol) but sometimes I don’t realize it’s as obvious or loud as I thought in my head, so I tend to get really embarrassed about it. It also just isn’t as I guess “conventional” as an average chuckle or giggle or smth idk LMAO… but seeing it represented in a character people love and who is treated normal just being who she is in the show makes me feel better about my lil laugh mannerism. When G4 started giving Derpy a lot more lines, the behavior felt a little similar, except the voice sounds more like Wysteria, hahah.(It's all the same voice actor though, all 3) I've been collecting up her G4 merch ever since first spotting her Build-A-Bear pony several years back and being like OMG VERY MINTY CHRISTMAS. She and G3 Rainbow Dash were my favorites as a kid. My mom was a bit of an MLP collector so I grew up on G1 and G3 shorts and toys from all 3 generations until G4 came along, which was an adjustment period but I warmed up to it with time, heh. Minty is best AllGenerationPony(except 2 but no one was in 2 really)

I never watched Gen 3 My Little Pony as a kid (or teenager when I was at the height of my MLP:FiM obsession), but from this video, it actually looks a lot better than I was expecting. Minty is such a cute character too, with her endearing clumsiness, and contagious laugh! I can definitely see why she seems to be the fan-favourite pony among Gen 3 fans! I might have to watch some Gen 3 MLP some time after I finish my re-watch of Gen 4. And as an Autistic girl, I approve of this video!
