Man, that's some real jazzy music to fight aliens to. I can-just about- envisage a troupe of black clad beatnik styled dancers choreographing this fight scene to this music...hmmm maybe a dance film of this story could be done with this score. Imagine a West Side Story style dance routine, same score, and Georgian State Dancers in billowing dresses designed to resemble the Daleks gliding about the place exterminating all and sundry. Very intriguing.

I love the films in all their technicolour glory, but I'm troubled that the TV series did a better job at making the mine and the Dalek operations feel enormous. For a massive mine that's supposed to completely alter the Earth in a fundamental way, the set they used and the miniatures made the mine feel teensy weensy. It's ironic that they didn't do the classic Doctor Who solution of location shooting, when in doubt, go to a quarry. I could imagine how much better the mine could have looked if filmed around the Penrhyn slate quarry or something like that.

The Daleks' greatest weaknesses were not themselves but their scriptwriters/editors and directors. Any greatly advanced race that can travel the cosmos and invade other planets destroying civilisations the while shouldn't be blindsided by a bit of tatty tarpaulin thrown over their eyesticks. And you shouldn't be able to manhandle the casings either: Dalek machines should be capable of generating a high voltage that would instantly kill any one trying to grapple with them. Any slightly intelligent scriptwriter could come up with a number of ways to improve the defensive/offensive capabilities of these creatures but then that would cost money to realise and making money, quickly, is what these admittedly enjoyable films were about. There hasn't been a film or episode of the t.v. serial that has persuasively achieved a true portrayal of the horror of these evil yet fascinating beings.

This piece of music should have been used in The Legend Of Ruby Sunday as he was manifesting. It portrays the sense of power and dread that the God Of Death would conjure.

Rather a dramatic & spectacular scene of the destruction of The Daleks, their mine and spaceship. Still, I guess it served them right, for trying to take our planet off us.

I don't know why they didn't hire some of the cast of the show. The actor that played Ian Chesterton could have done the film.

30 years later This shit is even funnier..talk about a classic episode all throughout but Skinner in court with his "i think words I'd never say" which itself is classic Simpsons but then they immediately top that with Homer's Meow Mix but the look on his face like something's wrong or troubling him is too damn funny...i hate to sound like a broken MP3 but i really miss the 90s and when The Simpsons had classic episodes every damn week...ill love Seasons 1-9 forever, 10 was solid but it was clear they were running out of steam, 11&12 were for the most part just ok and i stopped watching religiously in Season 13 and the last 23 years or so I've seen only a handful of episodes none of which i like, The Movie was ok but nothing special and 10 years too late imo, even if the quality remained the same or got even better i never would've imagined they'd still be making episodes in 2024, the animation is another of my main problems, its too sharp and is just lacking the soul of claasic Simpsons, Spongebob did the same thing and just like the simpsons it lost me

Yeah, back in 1963, when it was all about the mystery of that policeman walking in the junkyard, then they ruined it with that silly "bigger-on-the-inside" nonsense, that was rough. And then time travel?!!? Nice try BBC, I mean what were they teaching the kids back then?
