everything ive read about that island has been negative - much higher chance of getting robbed than in continental africa. travel advisories from just about everyone. which is a pity cause otherwise its a cool looking island but if you have to deal with hostile locals like in the DRC meh

I've been there for several months total over the past couple of years. In several different cities... I'm not sure where your reading this info but it's not true. The locals are quite friendly and not violent. South America for example is more dangerous than any country in Africa except maybe: South Africa, DRC & Somailia. Travel Advisories? from where? Give an example.

Abidjan Cote d'Ivoire is a great choice. A bit expensive , but worth it .. I'll be there later in 2025 ( Feb -Mar)

what don't you agree with? I've been to Madagascar 5 times cause I like it there and the people as well. People smile a lot more in the other cities in Madagascar, Tana not so much.

Is better to buy some hand soap at the local Shoprite and wash your own clothes in shower. You can get it done by the cleaning ladies in hotels but it is usually overpriced.

Depuis + de 30 ans Diego est ma ville preferée , suis ILE ste Marie et Fort Dauphin ... puis le vent , varatraza qui souffle toujours c est un bienfait cela apporte un peu de fraicheur car ll peut faire trés chaud. Puis beaucoup d escursions , il n y a qu a voir le nombre d agence rue Colbert , mer par exemple ramena ou magnifique vue a 3 baies , foret avec la montagne d ambre , super randonnée , Ankarana etc ;, Des hotels pour toute les bourses , quelques bons restau;

16 hours Is normal for any trip from Toronto to almost anywhere in Africa. I think Australia, Indonesia, Asia is even longer. Everything is different from Mexico, what do you think is similar?

when I walk around I have some money and hotel keys in pocket. I don't even take a phone unless I think I may get lost and need Google Maps. Usually a cheap Motorola phone. I've been pickpocketed in Kampala, Uganda in a super crowded club. The guy just got an old cheap phone.
