Dang... you're building a cajon, not a Strativarius Violin. Get on with it and finish it. You're over engineering it to the max! Oh, by the way' it's rabbit joints, not rebates!

Seriously?! I thought the Festool copy ring had some sort of quick change lock and just snapped in place?!! Even my cheapo Chinese router has countersunk screws that center the copy ring. This arrangement is beyond ridiculous.

Thanks John, I'm planning on building one of Matthias' bandsaws later this year. It's really helpful to see the challenges encountered by someone who *didn't* design it.

there are two reasons for slot screws the first is to prevent over-tightening and the second is if the screw head gets stripped its very easy to file a new slot

Hello, snare Is it better to be long or short?
@jdeacon27
@jdeacon27 4 жыл бұрын
That'd a good question; and I don't know. There's probably a length that is too short where the wires' vibrations are damped too quickly.

Hello Yiannis from Athens. My son asked for one of these boxes. Seeing your video I saw these snear wires, if I heard correctly. My question. Where do you get them. Thank you in advance.
@DustAndFilings
@DustAndFilings 5 жыл бұрын
They are 'snare' wires, normally found on the bottom of a snare drum. I bought mine at a drum shop. Any good musical instrument shop should be able to help you. Or you could probably get them online from a drum seller.
