Wow, loving the make over Dom, brave man with the darker walls hahahahaha, I think I'd go for that foil backed foam board builders use for insulation on the roof, its going to be a mare cutting it to fit but it will make it warmer, need some more lighting, but might be an idea to go with directional (movable) spot lights to avoid blinding yourself the whole time! There are also those sound insulation tiles you can place around the walls to stop that echo, they look like the surface of an egg box. You might only need a few of those scattered around.

Incidentally, I managed to fix the Hazard switch/ indicator relay by taking it apart and cleaning the contacts. There’s no way I could have produced a video about the process but you could and it would save Mk1 TT owners from being exploited by breakers who charge £40+ for something that could be repaired really easily. Anyway, keep up the great work! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🍺

Idk if anyone will see this or not, but I'm having issues with boosting, it gets into boost and cuts out straight away then drops back out, I've swapped the n75 and it's still doing it, I unplug it and then it runs fine just at 5psi, is the n25 still the issue?

very useful - i have a tired 20+ year old S3 with 1.8Turbo - i am in process of a total strip and repaint (a bit slow as i not touched it since April 2024) changing from a scratched up black to a nice shade of blue (ok i'll admit it, am going for the Porche Mexico Blue and might do a clear coat with white hypershift if i can locate some) body panels are sanded and zinc etched primed before final sand, most panels have come up real nice, might like to try and source a half descent front bumper, apart from all that, like to keep it near original without going silly, but you given me some ideas that i rather fancy - obviously i need to strip the engine, deep clean, sandblast bits, paint etc - but i want to get the kit to delete all the nasty pipes on top, i forget the name of it, i did lookit up prior to my laptop dying, so will have to find again unless you/or someone can name straight away

Ordered the bigger 2800nm 1/2" one in red, used it for the first time today, it made light work of the wheel bolts I was removing on a John Deere gator. Found out they are set to 100nm. So thought I would set it some tests. Found a M16 nut and bolt and torqued it up to 260nm. Tried to undo it with a snap on impact wrench and it struggled to undo it. Reset the nut and bolt and tried the One Van impact wrench, it didn't even impact 3 times before it was undone. Very very impressed. Only thing that lets it down is the charger.

The LHD cars are an easier install as the accelerator plug is on the pedal itself like the illustration shown @2:16 with no connector panel to contend with. Only the lower dash panel removal is required. Just installed this on my 3.2 DSG (thanks for the code Dom!) but haven't given it a run yet.

I've got the roadster fitted with the hard top atm. Best of both worlds. Toasty warm in the winter with the hard top and nice and cool in the summer with the roof down. The other thing to note is that the front subframe on the roadster is different with additional bracing to provide rigidity..

While I appreciate this video and ones like it, and it did help me, this job is very hard to do without damaging your panels and headliner. Additionally my MK1 04 TT (US version) was a bit different than the example shown here, so I'm adding some details of my experience for others with a similar configuration. I was able to remove the center overhead panel without any breaks, taking my time and using a flashlight to find the clips from the backside cargo hatch side first. Center two clips first, then outside clips from the interior side of the car. Unfortunately, while removing the passenger side A-pillar roof panel, I ended up cracking two clip mounts which I fixed by super gluing them. I'm hoping they'll securely hold the metal clips and allow me to press them into place without breaking again - a real concern. Drivers side A-pillar roof panel was extremely frustrating. You'd think I'd be getting better after removing the passenger side. While I was patient and taking my time, this panel actual cracked in half while pulling down to inspect for clip points like I had on the passenger side. I also badly broke two clip mounts as well. I don't think I can reuse this panel....likely a total loss. That brings me to the the actual headliner...This is where it got really frustrating, although I was eventually successful. On my 04 Audi TT (US Car) it would be impossible to just grab and yank down in the front...you'd destroy the structure of the headliner. There are FIVE fasteners tightly securing the headliner to the roof of the car. Pulling out the interior lighting panel is required to access three of these fasteners. These first three fasteners are clips, just like the other panels, but they need to be "unclipped" by prying with flat headed screw driver or something similar between the parts they're holding together because accessing the clips themselves is impossible, or would require a specialized tool. Pulling down on the headliner was only deforming the headliner and it would have broke its structure. After I had the three clips which are inside the interior lighting area, popped loose, I still wasn't able to budge the headliner. I found that I had to remove the small square sun visor mounts which hold the larger sun-visor (already removed) in place when in the forward position. These mounts also act as fasteners for the headliner, holding it very snugly in place. Once I pried these square units out the head liner came free, dropping down a few inches. One last thing that may be special to my car's spec is that rather than having that additional sun visor near the rear view mirror, I have a programmable garage door remote, a built in unit just behind the interior lighting panel. This was actually the most troubling part as I could not separate its wiring harness, which preventing me from removing the headliner. I tried everything I could think of to disconnect / remove the housing of this programmable switch plate...nothing worked. It is held on by three screws, only two of which are accessible with the headliner down. The other is behind the actual mother board, and so I more or less broke this factory garage door remote attempting to access the third screw or disconnecting it's wiring. Eventually the motherboard popped out and I was able to disconnect the wiring from the board and pull the headliner out of the car. I've taken a lot of cars apart, new and old, and this was one of the most nonsensical designs I've worked with. All in all a horrible experience. I wish my headliner wasn't sagging and looking so awful. Hopefully I can find / buy the parts I broke and get it all put back together with a freshly covered headliner. If so, it will be worth the hassle in the long run, but I have a handful broken pieces to find..and that's not going to be easy.
