Anyone else’s home weather station not showing the met office 2024 average UK temperature. I have it at .5 degrees colder than average year. It definitely felt less than average year. But I’m starting to wonder whether the powers that be are intentionally pushing the warming agenda, at the same time not addressing the inevitable consequences of climate change and the increasingly clear rapidly collapsing AMOC. Based on the IPCC data even if the UK, Europe, USA, Australia, Japan and Canada reached net zero by 2030, it’s impossible to reduce the worst effects of climate change. Without China, India, Russia, Africa, South America on board all our endeavour is pointless. It’s also extremely detrimental to our economic growth. Why is our government spending billions subsidising French, Germany, Spanish energy companies via wind generation and totally ignoring coastal defences, flood relief schemes, food security measures associated to AMOC collapse and extreme cold the UK will inevitably suffer. Is it because it could be 100 years until our ancestors will have to endure it all, literally without a paddle? Is it because we prefer to subsidise millions of millionaire boomer pensioners whom voted for thatcher and the privatisation of our utilities, hoovered up every penny of the North Sea oil boom with lavish spending on the welfare state that we the the over taxed worker of today could only dream of! It’s time to level up the economy and our future! Green tax policy for all pensioners with private income over £45k and or assets of over £1M. Let’s call it means testing the state pension! To build the systems, the infrastructure future generations will urgently need! For the better of the many not the few! For England Gav! For Britain!!!

Giving the government more money wont solve anything. Like you say they dont spend it on anything worth while like costal defences anti errosion or smart things. I used to think it was incompetance but i now think its just all governments regardless of what side of the fence just working for the same people and them selves and the whole point of the climate change agenda is not about trying to prevent anything which is a fools errand or a more logical step adapting to the changes and planet cycles with defences ect. Its about tieing the financial system to it within the 4th industrial revolution that will give them more power through extreme micro management using AI as a back bone. Its not about climate its about control.

incredibly mild here in Ireland, got close to 15C yesterday but endless grey skies and drizzle, haven't seen the sun in days. Hopefully it will turn colder again soon and stay cold.

Thanks Gavin. Anyone else on here apart from myself noticed the nights getting lighter? since the 21st of December. Today felt like spring to me with 10c in Nottingham and the birds were singing. Obviously I am expecting cold weather to come.

What actually is a Scandinavian high or the meaning of it?
@EthanHarris-f4p12 сағат бұрын
High pressure over Scandinavia
@margaretcooper43897 сағат бұрын
High pressure over Scandinavia often dragging winds of the Urals in Russia over Western Europe, some times for a week or more and in some cases a whole month.

Thanks Gav - Me thinks that the cold air in NE America and Canada isn't helping! The CFS predicted very mild winter for them yet so far this January the USA/Canada Esp the east has been anything but mild and if anything it is set to get colder there which is bad news for NW Europe.

Thankyou for the first Spring Update Gav.I hope we get a warm dry sunny Spring this year the last 2 or 3 years have been cold,wet and gloomy.

It was still a bit chilly, but less cold where I live near Bedford today. I'm glad it's milder. It was nice to cycle to work with thinner gloves on and not having to worry about the ice. I hope it stays mild, but I now thing there will be another cold snap.
