awesome! my shift gear slipped all of a sudden but then wouldn't get out of park. So I switched the break switch, that wasn't it. then i replaced shift lock mechanism, that wasn't it. checked fuses, that wasn't it. BUT then check the shift cable bushing connection and sure enough that was it. THEN I thought I was good, but later during the day the shift gear slipped again. I'm just glad this video exists and now I am confident knowing what parts I need and easy fix. it will just take time undoing the console shift area. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Do I have remove the reset switch too or leave them?
@GregsShop9 ай бұрын
Depending on the way it’s set up, I’d leave the reset switch if it is functioning. This protects the transformer from dead shorts in your underground wiring. If the reset breaker is bad, I’d purchase a similar one and replace the bad switch. I have found these transformers to be pretty solid. It’s usually all of the timers and switches that go bad. Hope that helps! -Greg
@balutpwr15959 ай бұрын
Thanks Greg. I’ll definitely try that. Another question, the reset switch is rated at 15 amp. It is okay to replace it with a 25 amp switch?
@GregsShop9 ай бұрын
@balutpwr1595 no, your outlet would be rated at either 15 amps or 20 amps…so you would want the breaker on on the transformer to be lower. If it was higher than the rated amperage of the a/c circuit, your breaker in the panel will trip before the breaker on the transformer. Keep it at the 15 amp.
@balutpwr15959 ай бұрын
Hi. I have a 300 watt low voltage transformer but have two transformer inside. How do I connect them? Thank you in advance.
@GregsShop9 ай бұрын
You basically find the 120v input and run them both through the dusk to dawn switch. Though I would caution you to verify the 600 watts total is less than the rated wattage that the dusk to dawn switch. If the switch only gives you amps then it must be lower than 5 amps.
@GregsShop9 ай бұрын
Look at this one. This switch exceeds the 100% capacity of your 600 watt total transformers. a.co/d/e9xvQ5s

For a 2010 F150 you will need Dorman 14055
@djdune106110 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video, I have this issue right now and purchased Dorman kit 14057 like you showed. The clear bushing flange is too large to fit in the ID register of the shifter cable so it will not go in and seat. I am not sure if you experienced the same.
@GregsShop10 ай бұрын
I had a hard time seating it. I had to really force it in but it finally did go. I think someone wrote a comment describing the same thing but they sanded it down to make it fit but I’m not sure I would do that. It’s meant to fit tight and may require a tool to “force” it in to place.
@Roadhammer4210 ай бұрын
I used the "Ford" bushing on the console shifter on my 2010 F150. I had to sand down the "flange" on the outer part of the bushing to get it to set properly but then it worked fine. Saved $250 buying a new shifter assembly.
@richardmarkus571610 ай бұрын
Excellent instruction. Tested and found the $$$ 600w transformer was ok. Similarly, my built in sensor was faulty. Bypassed (eliminated) the light sensor. Added an in-line plug-in external astronomic timer from Home Depot so that the garden and pathway lights turn on at dusk and off at 10 PM every day. Cost: $25. Time: 1 Hr. Thank you!

Do you know if the transformer clicks on and off that I have the same problem?
@GregsShop Жыл бұрын
The only clicking would be from a timer or a relay. The transformer will have a hum. You may have to separate the timer/ switch electrically and test them both. Most of the time, the transformer is good. It’s the timer/ sensor/ switches that go bad. Hope that helps

Your video inspired me to work on my fuel storage safety. Ive ordered caps for all my 5 gal containers for easier more compact storage. I agree with another commentor that propane storage for a dual or tri fuel generator makes sense because propane does not go bad and is multi use. I will be using sea foam to preserve my fuel instead of stabil after watching the silver cymbal video on fuel storage and doing some research into how the products actually work.

Thank you very much mate. Question: could one install a higher milli amp 18650 in this pack or has to be the same as dewalt original?
@GregsShop Жыл бұрын
I would stick with batteries close to the original. If they are too far out of spec the charger may think they are not charging properly and cut off. It’s hard to say for sure but that would be my approach to it. I have a charger for the 20v that will not charge the larger 4ah capacity batteries, only the smaller ones. I think it depends on what the charger will output.
