Not so many cichlids in its natural habitat. Is it over catching?

Makes me alittle sad, the fish in the hobby will never know this type of freedom, i have a 300 gallon amd im thinking im giving them alot of space, its so tiny compared to their natural habitat

I have small outdoor pond with a long stream in central Florida. I keep my in-line heater set at 74 to take chill away during cool days. Ground temperature usually stays around 70-75 so heater doesn’t run too often. Heated pond and stream also helps keep my tropical plants happy.

My lunatic neighbor gave me this fish she told me it was a zebra Danio boy was she wrong it killed all of my fish

When cleaning my filter i fill and stack the baskets outside the canister and bind them together with electrical tape. I then put the canister on its side and slide the baskets in and turn the canister the right way up and cut the tape away from the top of the baskets. This ensures the baskets are aligned correctly, and then i Vaseline the rubber gasket and fit the motor.
