Henry Benfield, who worked for Jr. Johnson, is a likely candidate.

I think Brewer is probably correct on most of this stuff. What is your issue?
@charlesbutler69063 ай бұрын
Marcus surely needs a nod for the HOF . He worked hard for the success he had . More than that he was one of the more successful independents in the sport . Tested cars for RCR set up IROC cars for that series . Considerable body of work .

It's been a while, but if memory serves me, during this 4 Winston cup win stretch, he also won 3 in the busch series in the #7 of Ed Whitaker, making it 7 victories in September.

Its easy to see the Ford advantage. The front end of the GM cars is veautiful but, its shaped like a brick. While the Fords have roubded boses and the fastback glass at the rear is an amazing advantage over the flat GM glass.

Jamin', I love that you're self-aware. There's nothing wrong with being an amateur if you know you are. And, yes, just about everybody loves Dave Marcis, present company included.

I'd say it was done by Juniors people. The reaction from Bill Jr says it all. If Bobby had fallen out Darrell would have won a Championship and nothing would have been done.....

It's like Waddell Wilson said on the other channel the other day. He put together an engine and had no idea which crankshaft he even threw in it. Depending upon the block and its bore sizing, a stock crankshaft can still be illegal.

It was so nice of Gary Nelson to let Gordon put anything he wanted on the track through the 90's; only reason Gordon was able to win so many. No templates used on Gordon's car.... Rusty Wallace stepped into Darrell Waltrip's old ride, so it was already a better team than others. Dale Earnhardt wasn't running against anyone of quality in 1979 for Wookie of the Year.. Richard Petty had more money than all the racers racing between 1947 and 1970. David Pearson didn't even run but 10-12 races all 1960.

When did rookie stripes on the car became a thing? I did some looking, but I couldn’t find a definite answer.
@kramnull89628 ай бұрын
It was on back in the 80's. I cannot remember the race exactly. But a rookie mistake took out one of the top dogs and they went crying to NASCAR as always. Dale Earnhardt was a crybaby in his youth. And NASCAR would listen. It was just so the big name driers could tell who the rookies were.
@kramnull89628 ай бұрын
It has been around for quite a bit. It was to denote a rookie who has not run on the track. Richard may have won rookie of the year but he may not have run on some of the trac… In the early early 1960's rookies ran with front(!) and rear bumpers in yellow. ~Googles answer That answer isn't what brought the stripe as we see it. In the 80's it became mandatory to run all the rookie season with the stripe.

Many many mistakes. First for 1950 Bill Rexford drove the #62 in one race. All others #60. And many picture of it ? For Lee Petty 1958 you is a convertible. Different racing series. For Rex White 1960 it's his 1962 car. For Joe Weatherly 1962 that should be a Pontiac you pictured his 1963 Mercury. For Darrell Waltrip's 1985 you have pictured his 1986 Aero Coupe.

Junior Johnson proved the 2 car concept was viable. He did it with Waltrip and Bonnett in the 80s. DIGard is notoriously shady. However, Allison is also known to be a pain in the ass. So imo everyone involved was likely to blame.

I had the pleasure of growing up during a great time in Modified racing. So many great drivers during that era. Richie Evans, Bouchard's, Bodine's, Fullers, The Reg and of course Sacks. Many of them made their way into Cup racing. Unfortunately, the modified division has somewhat fallen on hard times and only Ryan Preece has been able to make it there.

Here is my thought. If Nascar wasn't going to reward a Grand American car for winning a Cup race, they should have never allowed them to run with the Cup cars in the first place. But they did.

I made a mistake, there are 15 drivers who have 50 or more wins. I started the script for this video months ago when Hamlin had 49 wins. I updated his win total, but forget to update the number of drivers with over 50 wins. It obvious when you look at the graphic it's not an even number, but hey I'm from Alabama I can't count...LOL
