Curious approaches. Diatonic intervals were the norm in music theory but random carries more of a exploration approach. Which carries weight to improvising. Thats my take. Keep exploring :)

Love the video, and the tone of the bass. What kind of strings are you using (brand, etc.). Thank you.
@PosidoVega3 ай бұрын
Hi Laszlo! Thanks so much for watching and I'm so glad you love my video and my tone. The specific strings I use are: Fodera 40100 Stainless Steel Roundwound Bass Guitar Strings - .040-.100 Light. I have tendonitis in my forearms, which is why i use such light strings. there' not as beefy a 0.45-.105 gauge, but the lighter strings allow me to play longer with more finesse. I used to use DR's for a long time, but then I tried Fodera strings and really liked how balanced they felt with my fingers from string to string and haven't gone back since! The only time I'll buy a different set of strings if I'm in a bind and they're not available. The Fodera strings are pricer, but I also rarely change my strings, so it all balances out in the end. Hope this helps :)

I have watched so many instructional videos on slap bass technique, and hands down yours is by far the best. I’ve been playing bass for a long time and I’ve contemplated switching to my middle finger to pluck the string but never actually committed to it because I was too entrenched in this how you’re supposed to do it mindset. I have the same issue where my pointer finger is, 1/2 to 3/4 inch shorter than my middle finger so I’m gonna start working on my middle finger. I really like that you talk about listening to your body and make sure that it’s the most comfortable for your body makes a lot of sense.Anyway thank you for the video and I just hit the subscribe button.

This seems worth trying. I have to practice in silly positions because I’m often watching my kids when I do and this seems like it could have some advantages over sitting in a normal cross legged position which is my usual go to.

Hopefully at the very least it’ll serve as another way you can hold your bass guitar if you ever just want to switch things up. Thanks so much for watching hags2k. Your left hand seems to go way too high when playing on the lower frets though. That looks like it could be very hard on the left shoulder.
@PosidoVega10 ай бұрын
For sure Kbctl9190. There are definite things to consider with this position. I've been trying it out for a few weeks and probably won't make an actual decision whether or not I'll fully adopt this approach. But so far I am liking it. If I am staying in the low end (first 5 frets) for an extended period, I def agree with you that it can start to tax the shoulder.

Imagine buying a Fender and it not being balanced properly. Always try before you buy, a fender should be balanced perfectly, if not you got a dud. That neck dive was extreme and totally unacceptable. That contraption looked cheap and the balance was clearly unstable. Sitting on the strap also is a bad idea you'll eventually move in way that make he bass drop. Again try before you buy, I have a 1996 P Bass that is Perfectly balanced, don't buy a bad bass, before QC they should match the body and neck, a Fender USA, Fujigen era should cone balanced if not don't buy. Mex or any totally factory bass is a gamble, don't just buy online, they will send you the bad ones, the good ones go to stores where people try in person.
