Very good video this Dave I’ve just started to sea fish and I found this video very informative. Like you, I like to created-make my own rigs. I find it so rewarding if (not that I have yet caught in the sea) I was to catch on something I’ve created. Just like I tie my own flies for trout fishing.

This is exactly what happened to me the night after fishing Clacton beach. Proper whiting fest all night. Lost count after 20 odd. They were taking all baits, rag, lug, squid even some old frozen sand eel I had left over. Greedy sods were practically swallowing the hooks too. I did manage to get them all back in the water safely though but they were a pain to be honest. I have spent many a night on the beach without even a bite praying for a whiting in the past but it was bloody hard work keeping up with them on Sunday 😂. I was knackered. At one point the bait was in the water for less than 30 seconds before the rods started bouncing and double shots were coming in. Great vid mate. Always nice to see your posts.

Glad to see you back on the beach. I did my latest guide in almost exactly the same spot you fished the Friday before. It was a daylight session and a bit of a struggle fish wise.
