Just encoded it @ 720p in Sony Vegas Pro 9 as MP4. You could also upload the MTS file and KZbin would still show it in HD. In case you uploaded it a short while ago, you should give it some time to show it in HD.

nice, i have the same camera, how did you upload this in high definition? premiere? photofunstudio (crap) only uploads in low quality (I think)

No, I went by car. But I shot it at the Etxebarria Park, not at Mount Artxanda (the place where the funicular takes you).

@LumixTZ7 It's actually 2 consecutive sections from Mike Oldfield's Music of the Spheres, "Harbinger" and "On My Heart", it's not soundtrack but it indeed sounds a lot of film music.

The framerate is like a fake 60fps progressive because every sinlge frame is doubled on the TZ7 to get a 60fps video; you get the smoothness but you lack the definition of a real progressive video.

First fo all, don't follow the language version of the camera, just its region; PAL models shoot at 50fps (25x2) and NTSC models at 60fps (30x2). To verify the framerate of your videos, just drag them to Sony Vegas, right click on them and click on Properties; in the new window, look at the bottom, next to the Undersample rate field, there you should have 50fps or 59.97fps. Now create a custom template with my settings below using the fps you got in the properties tab and try. Good luck.

Hey buddy, could you give me a hand with the rendering side of things? I have the Lumix Tz10, which I believe shoots exactly the same AVCHD lite 720p video as the Tz7. The recording goes fine but whenever I go to render if in Sony Vegas, it goes blurry and paler than normal... I think I'm right in understanding that the ENGLISH version of the TZ10 doesn't shoot at 60fps, it shoots at 50. So I'm not sure whether to follow your rendering tips. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, cheers!

If it's like a beeping sound then it's a known problem that happens with some memory cards. Try other brands if you can to determine if that's the problem. Good luck.

They really are 30x2 (each frame is doubled in-camera to get fake 60fps). It is smooth on playback but you lack the definition of true 60fps progressive. Sorry for the confusion.

Look for the Sony HX5V; I was interested in this camera myself but decided to wait for a better one. Even though the videos look sharp they show some heavy barrel distortion at the wide end and the photos don't look as great as those from the TZ7.

@LumixTZ7, thanks for reply. One more question.... Is there a camera that is almost the same size as TZ7, which you can easily put into your pocket + its recording at 1080p? thanks
@LumixTZ714 жыл бұрын

@GulRamani , like LumixTZ7 wrote , I think it is your laptop fault. On my laptop 720p videos are not choppy, but when it comes to 1080p full screen then they are choppy.

As you know, both the TZ7 and TZ10 record at 60fps (30fps with each frame doubled) so that's why I encode them at 59.94fps, but not because KZbin needs that framerate (30fps is the maximum displayed here); I keep the edited videos as well as the originals so I just want them to have the same video quality (and that's why I also use 15mbps for my encodes).
@mikesmultimedia14 жыл бұрын
@LumixTZ7 Was going to ask you what you were rendering at. Got my answer here. Did you confirm what the TZ7 was originally recording at? Was it 1280x720 AVCHD 30fps progressive? Youre render using Sony AVC at 59.940 15Mbps could lead to the increased quality. I'll see if I can match that rendering quality with my sony vegas 9 as well to see if I get similar results.

You can see it in the description (normal mode with an exp. compensation of -1/3). I tried the underwater mode first but decided not to use it because it boosted the reds more than it was necessary. I guess the underwater mode works best when you're deep underwater and not just snorkeling on the surface.
