Great video :) bit confused by point 2 on the motifs section - what do you mean they move mostly by steps making them easy to sing? By 'steps' I'm assuming you mean the notes are close together and only move around by a couple of intervals?

Neat opinions! It's easy to disagree with the compare and contrast list provided here; the concept that lyrics and poetry are very different is based on what the composer wants them to be! Poetry can be very lyrical , or not; lyrics and be very poetic , or not! I think both poems and lyrics are forms of storytelling and attempts to try and categorize them (like this video) are good to think about,because, maybe someone who wants to create a piece will ruminate on what their heart is telling them to do, and why; once they are done, the distinctions between poetry and lyrics might not matter, but, what they created will!

Your Norwegian Wood example actually illustrated something else that was really cool. The melody is a descending scale against a pedal tone, at least for two notes. The pedal tone shows up on the second beat of the phrase.
