My mom had a home birth and they videoed it. It was her 4th kid & she went so fast that the midwife didn’t make it, so my dad & aunts helped her. She showed SOOO many of her friends that video. 🤷🏻‍♀️ One time someone said no to watching it and she was very offended. 🤣 She delivered my sister standing up, so I guess felt like that angle was ok for all her friends to see? 🤷🏻‍♀️ So at age 8 I had a very clear understanding of how babies came out, but didn’t know how they were made until many years later. 😊

I use a scooter and I have for most of my life because I have muscular dystrophy, so I am used to stares… but with kids, it’s totally awesome. Just go up with your kid and say, “isn’t that cool? Look at his cool wheels. It’s like he’s got a car all his own! He uses this so he can get around easier, just like sometimes mommy wears glasses so she can see easier, isn’t that great?” It’s so much better than people telling their kids to stop staring or shushing them or making it seem like being in a wheelchair is something wrong or shouldn’t be looked at. And if we teach them this when they are little, they won’t stare when they are adults, because that happens all the time. Even though I’m a normal human being, people just can’t believe that somebody is sitting in a scooter for some reason lol it’s totally normal to be curious about something you don’t see often, so normalize it :)
