You got Ian's phone back and dodged the weather - can't be bad Dave. Mind you it did piss down the next day but hey you managed to find some decent pit stops the boat house being one. Good going - a fantastic autumn ride. Mark

@BorderRambler2 ай бұрын
I replaced my Hilleberg Akto for the Helm 1 at a fraction of the hillys price . It has better headroom and storage space too. You will get condensation whatever tent you use as our country is so moist ! I always pack an absorbent cloth to help with that. It’s a great value for money tent , I use the Easton stakes to anchor mine down I wasn’t overly keen on the ones supplied atb Dave ⛺️👍
@andrewstennett31862 ай бұрын
Stunning photography on a great wild camp pal. I am late to the helm party but I am in the bobcat party but it's just too small. Would you say the helm one is a roomy 1 maner or is it worth getting the helm 2 that I believe blows around a bit more and is a tad heavier but a ton more space. I do like to sleep with backpack in with me but I am aware of the secret usable pod at the back of helm one for it. Just concerned that the helm 2 will be cooler on colder months to the helm 1. Would you use the 1 on summit camps in winter in 2024 . Cheers in advance

Thanks , I have used the Helm 1 on a summit in blowy conditions and found it a solid tent . The opening on the other side is great for boots and backpack storage . Not sure what you're wearing on your feet, but if you're toes are hitting the front of your shoes coming down hill you might wanna try the runners hitch. It's just a way of tying your laces that lock your ankles so your feet don't slide forward. Easy to look up, and really easy to tie. Just a suggestion. :) Happy Trails.

Nice camp Dave, I've had enough of inflatable pads and thermorest in particular as the bloody uberlite let me down again! I'm going heavy duty with a self inflating pad as a blown air bed is not too much of a problem on just an overnight camp on a thru-walk it's a disaster! I had to sleep on the cold hard ground for 3 nights before I found a village with a hardware store that had a cheapo festival pad to buy!👍🍺😎
