Stealthy looking set ups, your vango and Ians tarp were the perfect colours. Such accessible paths next to the canals, I could only dream of walking next to water for that long... all muddy fields and fences round here if I want to walk by water. Grim weather, good idea to bail and camp indoors 👍at least you finished it.

More like an assault course in places Dave, - apart from the mud what an adventure! Great scenery, I remember walking along that section of the L/L canal into Gargrave when I walked the PW a couple of years ago...great memories. Thanks for taking us along, top-class filming as always. well done both.

Great video. I’m from Leeds and cycle a lot on the canal. The bit from Skipton to Silsden is an absolute disgrace. You’ll have experienced a much improved ride for the last 30 odd miles though with newly laid surfaces. If they could sort out the whole route it would be fantastic. Well done though, great achievement doing the full stretch 😃👍🏼

Deffo enjoy over endure. I'd've done exactly the same. A great way of exploring the country with lots of interesting sights. An old Granada telly sign caught my eye on an old mill near the jet-ski 🤔. Good to see the double arches at East Marton too, I remember that from the Pennine Way. ATB, Chris

Bloody long slog that Dave mate. I woukd love to have a bash at that myself. I need to get a few more packs for the bike to hold gear really. Wish id have know you were doing this, id have met you for a drink somewhere along the route mate. No shame in stopping off to recharge in a hotel pal, id have been happy to do the same. Great trip 👌

Oooh, ta for filming this: wife is interested in doing it walking from the other end (we live in Saltaire) but I reckon it'd be a slackpack event. Looking forward to watch how you dealt with the bit between Skipton and Silsden: every time I've walked that it's been proper grim, even in Summer.

Good one Dave and mate, no shame in Premier Inning it especially as you got tarps and coffin like tents etc! You'd been better off walking it on some of those atrocious towpaths! 👍😎🍺🍺

There was a few times on that vid I thought your mate was going to end up in the drink. I have always fancied life on a narrowboat, but I reckon being a gongoozler on a bike is as near I will get to that dream. Reckon I might save it for a dry spell though, I might get out on the bike tomorrow🤔🤣

Another nice one Dave….binge watching this afternoon. Those clarty sections were a chuff weren’t they but well done and you can’t beat a Premier or Travelodge as a back up and normally decent bait too. Can you tell me what Ian’s Channel name is please. I’d like to ask him what rear rack bag he’s using it looks pretty roomy. Keep posting Dave….thank you.. Bessies…Ron

Hi Ron, it’s Ian here from the video, it’s a Sola 50L dry bag rucksack, it squashes down nicely on the rack with bungees, but in train stations I can fit all the kit in and put it on my back, to keep the bike light for moving around, carrying the bike up stairs etc🙂👍🏻
