All over the place! But generally EBay. BNA model world also has a great selection. Generally I’ll use scalemates to check what’s available for the kit

Just a thought, do you think maybe some liquid mask on the Bolts beforehand would have saved you some Clean Up time ?

@@stephenashley8431 maybe! Once you get in the groove though, cleaning these up, it’s not too bad for each bolt, and so it might just be a waste of time

Pretty cool result, clean enough for it to be considered newly deployed, but weathered enough to understand that it's in use already. I'll try to use this as reference when redoing some of the mud on my 2A4 model. Thanks for the guide

For a tank with markings for Ukraine, it is pretty clean. As a former Bradley gunner in Europe, our vehicles got pretty dirty. And muddy. One thing people tend to forget about dished wheels is that mud and gravity forces mud to the rims. There is a nice book on Russian and Ukrainian army during the war and boy are they dirty and muddy. I think you definitley more weathering.

Very Nice, 'TSE'!!! I too have the 'AFV' kit, but it is the one with A-C unit on the side ( Upgrade 2010 {??} ), so I can only think that it will be similar to your build. I have used 'VMS' hull tex on a small portion of a tank build, but I see that you sprayed it on.....I "squirted" my hull tex-coat straight from the bottle. But My question is: Do you squirt the hull tex in a airbrush bottle with " liquid " and using a large needle ( or "no needle" in your video ), spray the hull tex straight onto the model?? What liquid medium did You use??? I do like the PE but which one do you think, is the better?? I mean your 'AFV' kit Looks pretty detailed...so do I Even NEED the PE set(s). I could purchase both, looks like 'Voyager' PE set looks much more pieces. ( NOT an issue with me....I'm Very comfortable in using PE ). So which one is the better buy?? Good job on the scratch-building.... smoke generators, the shells casings!! Wow, a lathe, nice!! Watch Those fingers!!
@TheScaleEngineer
@TheScaleEngineer 2 ай бұрын
@@Hey_MikeZeroEcho22P thanks for the comment! Yeah the build should be nearly identical, the vms hull Tex I used is the “air” version, and so is designed with spraying already in mind, it’s slightly finer texture than the dry stuff. For PE, I’d say the voyager set is better bang for your buck, I wanted the side baskets, and so also purchased the Eduard set. Honestly the base kit is already really nice, and so PE is up to you. Personally I love adding a little brass to my kits, but if that’s not a big thing for you, the model will still come together great!

@@TheScaleEngineer WOW.... That was a QUICK Reply!👍👍👍 Thanks for the answers...... I have to look at the 'VMS' products from Michigan Toy Solider company again, I must have missed the "air" version. AND speaking of 'VMS' Products........how do you clean up those brushes??? I heard that when applying the cement before hull tex application, that the brush was ruined, isn't there a way?? ( I used a 'Testor' brush, and was able to clean it ........... I Believe with lacquer thinner, I just don't remember ). In their 'VMS' tutorials...they don't mention it.

Nice video! I learned something from your tutorial! I never realized that you could mix Liquitex Acrylic Flow Aid with Tamiya paints. I am aware that both are acrylics but Tamiya is based more on Lacquer. To verify also, you mentioned mixing a Tamiya X22 clear coat together with the paint while airbrushing? This process of adding clear coat is just like using Pledge Acrylic "Future" or "Revive" (both were discontinued by J&J)? I have seen on KZbin of someone was adding Pledge with Badger primers to make it better. Can you please explain? Thanks!
@TheScaleEngineer

@@rays.86 yes flow aid is super useful for spraying tamiyas! usually just a couple drops is sufficient. I'm honestly not sure why it help, but mixing X-22 clear into the basecoat paint helps it lay down better!

Looks very nice, but you have a lot of grounds to cover with this build. Tanks on that war are dirty, used as hell and usually just fugly to look at. It will be interesting to see how you'll turn quite bald-looking armata into something like that. And thanks for leaving the parts where something went wrong! It's always reassuring to know that others have troubles too. Helps to keep the correct perspective. P.S.: Isn't your tactical sign a Khorne's sigil? ;)
