Great! I have a seized needle bar in a singer 4452. I may try this later. If this doesn't work for me, would you recommend maybe kerosene, alcohol, degreaser or even anti seize to get into those bushings of the needle bar? Thanks for the vid!

What do I do if the lever will not pull Down?
@cbstrdst4892
@cbstrdst4892 3 ай бұрын
So, if your lever slider is seized, it is a common affliction with them. DO NOT FORCE IT OR YOU WILL BREAK IT. Have some WD40 and a glove ready, and bend the end of the straw, so it will spray back in behind the slider. Then, take your hairdrier on its' highest HOT setting, and warm the knob and slider for a minute or so. ONLY THEN, once it is good and hot, put on a glove and start trying to move it down. Once you get it to budge, you have won the battle. Keep working it with heat and WD, and soon it will be sliding free. I really do need to do a better video of this button holing, but I have since lost my voice.

I would suspect something is sluggish or seized inside. The old factory lubes were terrible for making mechanisms sluggish. You can try hairdryer heat, and WD40 blasted all over inside, while you move all the controls around. Always re-lube after with proper oil after, but WD frees things up pretty well. Good luck.

@@nanjavledder1509 I see the culprit on my 730. It is a little sprung "ball" that is seized on your machine. They are almost impossible to un-stick, but not impossible. If you try to pry it, you WILL break it. You must soak it with much WD40. Then use a normal household hairdryer on high heat to heat the heck out of it. Only then can you try to start budging it loose, bit by bit, slowly working it back and forth. Heat is your friend, as is WD40 to free it up. This applies to many stuck-part instances on machines. The lube that they were assembled with turns to glue after so many years of not moving. How did I get the hatch open? Took the interior panel off from the top first. Removed two plastic stud covers at the right and left side of hatch. They broke off. With side cutters cut the plastic web behind each stud, then pulled the cover off the hatch. That gives access to slide about 3/8 wide with a slot in the middle on the bottom of the mechanism. Put a pointed awel in the end of the slot and pull it to the right. Have a helper open the door from outside.

Good video, genuine Bernina cam gears for this are no longer made, the replacement ones work perfectly, do not be scared by the fact the gear may not be as tight as the original when in position the cams rotate and each stitch the machine takes turns the cam stack quite a bit and the little play in the movement makes no difference and i have three of these machines i use and have replaced the same gears in each, on I just did again for the second time. I like to use Liquid Bearings synthetic oil on all my machines it works so much better and longer than any conventional oil I have ever used, this is available on Amazon or E-Bay and works on clocks as well.
