Had the same problem with whining and not wanting to shift on my 09 Nissan cube. Changed the cartridge filter and cleaned the screen filter real good and put Castrol transmax cvt fluid and now it works fine !!!

Have a 2010 cube. I ran into the same whine / noise and ran across your video. Replaced the screen, filter, and whatever fluid was in the pan. Whine is now gone completely. Very thankful that you uploaded this video. I’m draining the pan and adding more new fluid this weekend to hopefully prolong the life of ole cubert.

I just got duped and bought a cube with the same noise. It only does it when it's a cold start tho. Fingers crossed doing this will fix it. Thanks for the vid and glimmer of hope

Great video, quick question, what did you use to clean the filters and it is operating properly without noise now that you have driven it?
@cbstrdst48924 жыл бұрын
The filters were washed out using brakleen. The car drove great after this and has since moved on to a new owner. It was creating such a vacuum trying to suck it was creating bubbles in the fluid causing the pump noise. Be sure to use only Nissan fluid though, and be very fussy about getting the level correct when hot. I hope it helps.

After 220k miles and immaculate care for my 09 cube, got a cvt whine. I don't currently have the money or time to fix it unfortunately. In the middle of a move and an extensive work project. Some asshole over filled it with the wrong fluid.

Was the transmission working or not in the beginning?
@cbstrdst48924 жыл бұрын
The car moved, but it was slipping and has horrible pump whine. It was trying to suck fluid in so hard that the fluid was 'boiling' from vacuum and making the noise. A transmission shop had condemned it as done. New Nissan fluid and clean filters and it works like a charm.

Did the pitch of the whine change with the revs?

When u change the secondary filter. Did u change also the whole housing or just the filter?
@cbstrdst48922 жыл бұрын
I am pretty sure it was just the filter.

Also do u have the part number for the gasket and filter..Amazon has compatibility chart and per Amazon buyers review it says it’s not compatible. And lastly did u use the old screen filter and just clean it or it came with a new one when u order

The only thing I recall buying was Nissan fluid, and Brakleens. I washed everything out as I recall.

@@cbstrdst4892 thanks ur video will be my guide when I do my transmission service I changed the fluid only 2x about 94k ago 2k apart there’s no in-depth video that I can find with regards to changing the filters. I have 107k right and amazingly running good but I wanted to do the service hoping the transmission will last longer I’m buying all necessary parts but having hard time finding the right gasket filter kit.. I’m using valvoline cvt na 2 transmission fluid which I also use to flash at 94k it’s much much cheaper $7.58 per quart… thanks again for the video

Spend the money on the fluid from Nissan. Don't skimp on the fluid. Imho, anyway.
