I totally understand what you’ve gone through and are going through. I’m an artist myself have done huge paintings of 6‘ x 4‘ tight and was in the thick of things, exhibitions, selling My artworks worldwide et cetera. When suddenly I had a bad fall while travelling and broke my wrist. My working wrist. It has been 12 days now and I too can’t, and while my hand is on cast, I too can’t lay my wrist flat on the ground. I do not know when I should be able to paint again, your video, give me inspiration.

So sorry to hear about your wrist, and I wish someone had counseled me on how to pace myself in recovery except that my recovery was particularly slow with the thumb not working at all for over 2 months and having to be in therapy for 5 months because of complications. Tendons still aren't stretched like before BUT I can paint and I finally can claim 95% fine motor skill recovery!!! although I couldn't claim that surprisingly high percent until 15 months post op. At one year I was still slowly but steadily healing. So, I hope this helps you understand your healing timeline may be slow, but just keep pursuing your goal and focus on successes. Think of positives, find something to do/learn while healing, and embrace the journey as character building. And btw, your watercolor conch is lovely! You will paint again I'm very sure!!!

The algorithm just introduced me to your channel, but I see that you have not posted for 7 months. I do hope you are well, and haven’t broken anything else!!? I would love to be taught (I am a beginner) watercolour by you, as I was absolutely delighted to hear about your pupils. I am a wheelchair user, who shakes unexpectedly etc., it can make learning very slow indeed, but I have discovered a love of simply playing with colours. Wishing you well from a new subscriber from Scotland 👩🏻‍🎨🎨🖌️👍🏻💜

LOL, no I haven't broken anything else 🤣 I've been busy with more education and certifications and haven't had the time to make videos (they take sooo much time) but painting is still a joy. I actually work at a long term care facility and teach painting and so many other recreational programs to residents. I LOVE the job! It is so much fun to inspire the residents with the joy of creating and setting up the task so they can achieve. I wish you the VERY BEST in your pursuit of painting!!! Where there is passion, there will be progress and success!!! I will post again but the certification needs must come first. Until that time, keep dropping notes! Warmly, Cheryl

Hi Alison, the full painting of this and all 12 days of Christmas paintings are shown in detail with instructions given on every step. I think this one was one of the easiest and most fun to paint! I appreciate the compliment 🤩

How did you make your swatch card? Did you measure so that it would fit in you palate tin?
@AnimalArtbyTerraCotta
@AnimalArtbyTerraCotta 3 ай бұрын
First I figured out how many colors I'd use, then measured my paper and figured out exactly how large I could make each swatch square that would allow a white buffer around each. Took some time, but what really took time was the swatching! Hope your swatching comes out awesome too!

I bought the bockingford hot press... I found the buckling absolutely aweful when i was trying to do wet on wet and my washi tape just ripped up the picture... So im going to stretch it and see if the buckling is any better... I was really sad. I really wanted to like this x
@AnimalArtbyTerraCotta
@AnimalArtbyTerraCotta 7 ай бұрын
I very much agree with the word "awful" in the wet in wet process. For me layers were possible but hard and reactivated areas where I used a fair amount of the water the second time got a bit pulpy. I finished the pack and never have plans to repurchase. But that said, Buckingham makes great practice paper! Thx for sharing your experience, NeverLookBack!

I noticed a long time ago hot press likes paint & cold press likes water. If you’re into multi washes using a lot of water, cold press is the best bet. Detailed, non sloshy painting, hot press is best.

Another jigsaw puzzle masterpiece! Put any variation of all of them colored puzzle pieces together in the in the most optimum eye pleasing configuration and voila! To the Louvre it goes! Thanks for a wonderful tutorial. I'm a Holbein fan. So many flavors to choose.

Holbein is great in both watercolor and acrylic! And surprisingly the colors when mixed don't muddy as much as other paints ... or so my experience goes. I'm thinking it has to do with the unusual binder. Thanks for your comments!

PRECIOSO!!!❤ How can I get the drawing of the birds to transfer to the canvas?
@AnimalArtbyTerraCotta
@AnimalArtbyTerraCotta 19 күн бұрын
One common method is to transfer the image using graphite (not carbon) paper. The excess graphite can be erased or softened unlink carbon lines.

Hi Daniela, wow, it was a journey that lasted 15 months until I felt my healing was pretty good. Guess we've both taken breaks. I'll eventually come back but right now working on some certifications so my extra time must go in that direction. Hope you are well and painting at least in your private time!!! Big warm hug back!! 🥰

@AnimalArtbyTerraCotta, I'm still painting for a living. I'm just not as active on social media (at least not on youtube). I'm really happy to hear from you 🤗
