I remember watching this as a young lady and feeling bad for the tall lady because she was more star struck than judgemental as her friend

This is one of three great scenes in this movie. The others are when she tells off her greedy family, and when she watches herself in a screen-test that she has ruined by trying to be sexy.

I saw an obscure Bette Davis film at the Roxie Theatre in San Francisco called,”Fog Over Frisco” where Bette played a wisecracking heiress who falls in with a bunch of gangsters and it was a hoot !

There will never be another like Bette Davis. Shes my favorite actor. Committed, intelligent, unique, professional and just one of a kind. Bette was always unusually beautiful and the GOAT. ❤❤

Bette WAS that character at that point in her career. She should have retired after All About Eve and married a rich Texan like Greer Garson did. Poor Bette became a self-parody in 1950 and never evoked real emotion on screen again

My two favorite actresses born decades apart. Meryl Streeps tribute to Bette moved me very much. Both actresses own the parts they play and their talent shines above the other actors they work with. I wish they could have done a film together. Thank you Turner Classic Movies for Meryl’s tribute and the clips from many of Bette Davis’s movies.
