I dont want to be insensitive but i dont see the point. Its hair, it grows back. The part that was detangled looks so damaged anyway. Emotional intelegence is every important for everyone. 😢

Just cut it off - pixie styles are in fashion. Why waste time trying to untangle it all - it will grow again.

I would have thought the only solution is cutting the matted hair off. Impressive work.

She should have used Redfin detangeler conditioner on it. Would have saved a lot of time and pain.

4:14 Bless you! My eighteen year old daughter fell into what we thought was depression but ended up being diagnosed with bipolar. She started wearing beanies. She said it was fashion. I didn’t find out until too late that her hair was badly tangled and matted. You have given me the inspiration, instructions, and hope to work on her hair and get her back to feeling herself as well. Hairdressers can be life changers! Bless you both for the time, patience and effort you put into this girl’s life. You’re amazing!❤

Wow u did wonders with that hair. I’m wondering if other hairdressers may have just said to her to cut it. This is wonderful.

I was so happy to hear you say that even though you were in active addiction you still could function and you still took care of your child ❤❤ I am also a recovering addict I have been clean for almost 7 years now (7/15/2018) and throughout my active addiction I was always a mother first and an addict second..so many people continue to only have a stereotypical mindset or vision of what they think an addict is and many of them don't realize that they could be living with an addict or have friends who are addicts and they may never know.🤷🏻♀️

When I was younger I was really depressed, and had a hard time caring for my hair (and myself in general) I had matts in my hair very often and was shamed for it. I have since gotten better now, and I have short hair that I love and feel myself in and cut it myself. I am so grateful for people like you. Thank you for not judging others and meeting them with an open heart. Your work is appreciated by so many, and not just the people you detangle

😩😩😩 I’m still here with my hair like THIS! I have ordered things to help, that haven’t really helped. I section my mat/wads the best I can and I start to work on a section from the bottom. What I am finding is….as a get the bottom coming out of the mat and work upwards (which seems to be working) EXCEPT that the hair free’d at the bottom just ends up sticking itself back to the hair and tangling in again! This is so frustrating. My hair needed washed,..now after applying various detanglers etc….it just seems to stick to the other hairs because of product. I’m going to take one section and go to the kitchen sink with an ever so gentle, GENTLE wash and rinse to try and get the hairs CLEAN. When my hair is clean…the hairs slide easier when pulling out of the mat. I also realized something else I forgot about with my hair (which is waist length, coarse textured and wavy). When I COOK …the oils, steam etc etc in the air, gets in my hair and I really think THIS (for me) is what starts my tangles to begin with. I’m seriously ill, so washing hair every day is not an option, unfortunately. My being sick is how my hair gets like this. This is the 3rd time in about 4 years that my hair has gotten matted and in wads. My husband tried to help last time and,…well….NEVER AGAIN!!! 😂 He was brutal. Off I go to the kitchen to wash a section and rinse, then dry and hopefully with the hairs stripped of any gunk, product etc….it will stay apart once I have it out of the mat.

I don’t get neglected. I am just autistic and CAN’T STAND the pain of other people brushing my hair (it’s still painful when I do it myself but I can handle it more). It’s the reason I never let people touch it. The only time I do is if I’m getting my hair cut or washed at a hair salon.

🎉🎉😢😊Very inspiring video! People supporting others health and healing. Some people need support when going through problems in life. Something as simple as a new haircut, or hairstyle can help with recovering from a traumatic experience. See, the difference with this hairstylist is she is not gossiping about neighborhoods, men, and street drama. She is listening to her clients recovering storytime, and it's a healthy conversation. Notice she said spiritually setting her free.

Sometimes hair that is in this kind of shape, looks like it took a long time to get like that but, I can tell you…I’m sitting here with my hair in a wreck after only 8 days of illness and not tending to my long, wavy, kind of wiry hair. I just can’t seem to find what will work on my hair to get these mats, knots and wads OUT. 😩😩 What you did with this girls hair is absolutely AMAZING and I hope she doesn’t have to go through this ever again!! It’s frustrating, depressing and embarrassing.😩

Wow! Its comforting to know someone else went through the same thing i am going through right now. I untangled my hair myself after nearly 2years of just throwing on a wig. Ive had agoraphobia since the pandemic. I lost 9people during the pandemic including my mom and younger brother and 2forever friends...it broke my heart and has done something to me thats unexplainable😢 Trust me when i say, i know it took a lot for this woman to get to this appointment but its great to see how much fun she's having and how beautiful her hair turned out...i know all that new length is giving her life! Her husband is going to be a happy man! Thanks for taking the time to transform this lady inside and out. This definitely was more than a hair appointment, it was also much needed therapy and maybe even a budding friendship ❤❤❤
