Have watched numerous videos about livescope setup and this was by far the best. Clear and concise. Thank you very much!

Great video. I have the Portable Buddy. I've tried to connect a 20lb tank to it, but it doesn't stay lit. Is that because it needs a filter?

Good video, very informative. I don't get why they are calling the new one the Flex. When I first saw the name I thought maybe it could run off different kinds of fuel and maybe didn't use propane - especially since its form factor looks like a kerosene heater. I am currently using a portable Buddy to heat my bedroom in the evenings/nights with no, other heat source. I live in East Tennessee so we generally don't get brutal cold - although last year we did have a week where highs didn't or barely made it out of the teens and tge power was in and out. The thing is, as the area is considered to be a temperate rain forest, it rains a lot and there is generally high humidity even when it doesn't. That translates to a damp cold meaning on some days, when the humidity is really high, 40°F can feel colder than 30°F when the humidity isn't as high. On those days the Buddy heater is mostly needed to take the damp chill out of the air. I wish the portable Buddy had a 'Medium' setting that would be about what the current 'low' is and a lower setting labeled as 'low' because, on those days when the dampness is more an issue than the actual temperature, I can't keep it on long because even on low it will run me out pretty quickly. We have had a few nights this year where temps got down into the mid/low 20s. I have plenty of cover on my bed and will break out a sleeping bag if it gets really cold so I still just run the Buddy on low just to keep the chill out of the air. As for run times, I have seen that the official run time for a one pounder on low in the portable Buddy is 5.4 hours. I am lucky if I get 5 out of one of them. Are you really getting 6? I got mine five or six years ago but mostly only used it for emergency heat until this year so I wonder if newer ones are a little more efficient. I recently picked up a larger (15 pound) tank, a 12 foot hose and filter. Temps here have been warmer for the past week or so meaning I haven't used the Buddy as much and that tank lasted a week. We are supposed to be back in the 20s at night this week and I am going to get a filled bottle tomorrow so we will see. I have other things that use the one pounders so I will keep some of them around and use them in the Busdy if need be.

Play with you settings on the panoptics, if you get it set up correctly, there is very little difference.

Upper Red is always fun. Best food is at West Wind. I also like JRs. Both have roads. I also highly recommend Devil's Lake. I'm in MN and I almost exclusively fish Devil's now. It's just so much better than most MN lakes and so much less pressure. But Red is certainly easier to fish. Good luck!

WOW!!! Thanks for the review. I actually have a little buddy or portable buddy. And it’s been working great. I’ve only had it for about two weeks maybe three weeks now. I’m not so keen on the unit going on and off I would rather just be able to send it using that thermostatic setting we’re basically I could dial up the heat and it would stay on at that heat regardless.

So basically two major features one the fan into the electric starter not impressed with that electric starter when there is no other way of starting it without the battery. Absolutely love the idea of the fan.

Very good review. Not a fan of black interiors as it is so dark inside it can be hard to see things in the tub. The light color interiors help with being able to see/find things in the tub. I do like the one-man shacks though for ease of loading and unloading by myself.

That new striker vest is money! I picked one up at the ice angler show. It has became an everyday wear vest. No life jacket, old float suit feel. Very comfy.

Thinking I’m gonna put one of these on my new Tanaka 270 gas powerhead. The powerhead is a hair over 13 lbs and the pistol bit is 3.2 so it will be a strong gas auger weighing only 16 and some change pounds.

Upper Red Lake? That's disappointing, wheel houses are getting on Lake Winnipeg, bite the bullet and go somewhere like that,as much as I like the Core product, their smaller ones like the 6511 or the 6515 are more versatile for early ice.

There aren't enough core videos, thanks for making this vid! Had a couple questions hoping you can answer. 1.) How easily do you tow your 15'? Do you think you could tow the 6.5 by 19'? 2.) Would snowmobile studs scratch the floor? 3.) How thin of ice would you take this thing on? I was thinking of adding snow tow skis to the tires of 19' version. You mentioned the snow tow skis float better! Thats good to hear!

Can you just buy the buddy series propane hose and not any other hose if you’re going to use a 20 pound tank from a convenience store ? Do I need something different then the buddy series propane hose?

This shit is absolutely garbage…. All gimmicks but these have so much delay and the detail sucks. If you run this next to a Garmin it also makes the screen fuzzy as hell and then interference is terrible. Garmin is just better. I outfit boats and everyone who gets these or the older versions right now complain that their buddies Garmin are better and mapping is better

I purchased the panoptix unit at St. Pau shoe for a good price and have been pleased. Yes older tech but was talk of town just a few short years ago I am sure my ignorance but not sure why would leave in forward view and fish with that view once set up vs using fv to scout. That’s is how I have used and the set up works well as no need to keep the transducer in place The transducer has stayed in place in down view when use the float- I keep an eye on it but does do good job of staying in place Overall like much better than vex as is helpful to see the view view of fish in area I do want to get into some Deeper water with it to see if still works as well before my Return window expires Do not like that did not come with cover In summary, for me, it has fit the bill but still Learning and tesstig

So here it goes. This technology transforms Ice Fishing into something else... The unit takes over and fishing comes second. No way anything on the ice should cost 2000 dollars or more. Except of course whatever vehicle you use to get around. I've fished with guys that have similar units and they are nearly 100% focused on that alone.
