3:54 that wouldn't work, In order for the ship to drag to the side like that it would need friction, there is no resistance in the void of space so The ship would continue to move straight regardless if it lost an engine pod, it would however lose about a third of it's acceleration, and about half of its rear maneuvering nozzles, something that would almost certainly be lethal for such a thin skin ship that relies on its speed and maneuvering to stay alive.

Aircraft carrier armament varies. WW2 US carriers were covered in AA guns, while modern ones carry minimal weapons. The Forerunners were supposed to be Human before the 343 retcons. C3 Sabertooth has a great video on how it all basically came down to Frank O'Connor changing the lore as early as writing 1/3 of the terminals for Halo 3 that didn't line up with Joe Staten's lore at all.

Marathon is 12 million tons, Halcyon is 9 million tons. when you say the Marathon is 1 million tons heavier you are probably talking about the Autom class which is 11 million ton. weight difference comes from armor, reactor, main gun size, difference in hanger space ect.

Aircraft carriers don’t exactly have a lot of missiles but enough to chase anything off that happens to be around along with its phalanx systems. Generally speaking its protection comes from being at the heart of a carrier strike group with numerous assets dedicated to screening and protecting the carrier.

I don't think that's entirely true. We only see frigates everywhere because they're small enough to do atmospheric flight _and_ because they're most of what is left at that point. Keyes commanded a destroyer, the Iroquois, right before Reach. They don't resemble naval destroyers much, they're more like heavy cruisers in role, ie designed for heavier engagements.

God I hate 343 lore. The forerunners were supposedly extremely peaceful but they fought a whole war with humanity because they were running away from the flood and thought the humans were invading. No one thought to maybe just tell the Forerunners what was going on.
