Be careful of the bridge in North Miami on the ICW. It is correctly marked on charts as 56 feet and it really is 56 feet. It is NOT a typo.

@@AskCaptainChris yes sir-I’d still prefer to rig a big Viking with a Bow Rail.Some don’t like the esthetic-but I do and having that to hold on to when it gets snotty out there wins out. Not like I’ll ever have that problem😆 Going down to Atlantic City for the week-I’ll get down to Absecon inlet and have a look around…I’m sure a few of those big Sportys will be going out Tuna Fishing at this time of year.

Great piece of parking. But… here in the UK we would have had that boat festooned with fenders. This guy has a small fender astern and one midships. It may be the standard set up for USA, perhaps we’re naturally more cautious 🤓🤓

This was in Georgetown, SC on an oxbow lake with no current or wave action. He later added fenders that were secured to the dock because there are not that many cleats in the mid ship section of this boat. He made it look easy!

Embarrassing, never run out of fuel. Lie and say the engine quit! Then get towed to the fuel dock, DUH!

What was the excuse for running out of fuel? Some makes of engines are difficult to get started. May require filling filters, bleeding injectors, all kinds of fun. I fooled around changing the filters on my little Yanmar tractor. I let air get in the system ,took a while to get it going. 😮

Saved a autocar truck one time they said the engine was shot . I bled out the fuel system... Still running every day

Off subject , do most boats have sea chests ? I guess it minimizes thru hull fittings?

@@edwardc.3710 actually no. Most pleasure boats under 65 ft do NOT have sea chests. But most DeFever 44-49 and Marlowe yachts do have a sea chest. The through hulls are still the same number but now they are all drilled into the sea chest- one location.
