Hey Siri, is this a private lake or what cause I can’t find it on the maps😢
@FishingtheLoneStar3 күн бұрын
@@drxzzyEDITZ - yes, I mentioned in the video and description that it’s apart of Private Water Fishing. You can find it on their website.

hey LoneStar - I plan on fishing lake lewisville in the next week or two. I've got a 10' pelican bass boat. This is going to be my first venture out. Can you please give me any tips for summer fishing at lewisvlle? thanks.
@FishingtheLoneStar10 күн бұрын
@@JJ-tv5pc - I would launch from Hickory Creek boat ramp and fish around all the rocky points there. A lot of schooling bass in that creek channel, and around the main lake points there. Crankbaits work early, then shakey heads later.

Not bad at all. I was considering a new 115 hp for my 16' aluminum boat but the seventy five scoots along nicely too. Better fuel economy as well.
@FishingtheLoneStar19 күн бұрын
@@Langdune - agreed. There’s definitely times I wish it went faster, but it gets the job done just fine.

I don’t use the hula. But put it on a crappies jig, of course cut the collar off and bend hook to side just a little to offset it. Cast and start steady real as soon as it hits water. You don’t just catch dinks either. My first over 6 was like that. I started using them 5-6 years ago. I use Yamamoto double tail 4 inch and I throw the hula away. If that’s all I have.

I noticed that it overhangs the front of the boat pretty far. Do you have any advice on how you can mount it so it doesn't get damaged when you are taking the boat off of the trailer? The ramps I use here in Mobile, Alabama are pretty shallow and the boat kind of falls off the roller when you launch it. I don't want my mount to fall on that roller and break it. Thanks for the overview. I'm thinking about getting one, but I need to figure out how to launch the boat with the bracket poking out so far.
@FishingtheLoneStarАй бұрын
Well, the way it deploys, it has to hang over the edge. But you’re right, I’ve hit it several times on the bow roller while launching. I’ve had to figure out the right point/depth for my trailer no matter what the angle is of the trailer. That has helped a ton. I rarely hit it now. All about the trailer angle.

@@FishingtheLoneStar thanks for your answer. I did find that Minn Kota makes a base plate that bolts to the boat and another plate that bolts to the bottom of the motor than then fits onto the bottom plate. It has a sliding track where you can slide the motor mount back where it doesn't hang over. I went over the Bass Pro Shop and they had one for $69.99 and I think it will solve that problem. I haven't got my motor mounted yet, they should do it on Thursday. I'm crossing my fingers. Thanks for the video!

I wish private water fishing wasnt so expensive. I dont mind paying an initiation fee and an anual or even monthly membership fee. But ALSO having to pay $100-$200+ each trip is just ridiculous. Awesome video and awesome fish though.
@FishingtheLoneStarАй бұрын
I understand your point of view. Compared to the cost of land ownership to own a property like this, it’s a good deal. Most lakes also have a boat on site to use as well, so a lot of people use that versus paying for a boat, storage, gas, insurance, etc.

I fished Moss Lake back in January 1996, or was it 1997? I didn't catch anything. But, what I vividly remember was the Blue Northern that blew in. Temps dropped to 22º F, but that was O.K. because I had a little propane powered heater for the tent. Enchanted Rock is one of the coolest natural formations to visit in Texas.
