I didn't know I'd been slowly poisoning myself while I was drawing my grandmother's portrait T--T my drinking water cup started tasted funny after leaving it next to my pastels overnight. Water does absorb particles from the air. Art is tough. More than skill, you also need to practice chemical safety!

wow looks beautiful! how is the pallete? ive fond that some wooden palletes often absorb the paint and becomes really hard to clean
@MisakoFlodinКүн бұрын
I’m currently oiling out my wood palette, which is great for sealing the surface to prevent it from absorbing the paint! here is the tutorial I found online↓ To oil out a wood palette, apply a thin layer of linseed oil, walnut oil, or another suitable drying oil evenly across the surface using a clean cloth. Let the oil soak in for a few minutes, then wipe off any excess to avoid stickiness. Repeat this process daily for about a week until the palette is properly sealed.

We need more men portrayed the way women are in paintings. This is elegant, and soft, as if the paint is whispering. Love it.

I found the brushes a bit frustrating to use. Probably because I'm more used to the way natural bristles work. Did you have any issues with any part of the set? I really enjoy the paints. Not professional grade but affordable for the hobbyist. ❤ beautiful piece here.

I recommend their oil painting brushes(black ones), I really like the texture it gives. and if you want to get the hang of handling oil paints, I recommend getting paints from Gamblin or Winsor&Newton

Hi Misako, thank you for this great information. I'd love it if you did a video on fire-safety and how you cleanup as you paint, plus how you clean up at the very end? Do you rags or paper towels? Is there a special way you deal with the rags or towels to avoid risks of combustion? Thanks

I have to give up oil painting, because of my arthritis. I can work only while seated, and would need too much assistance with serup and clean up. I got some soft oil pastels, and they are the perfect solution. Will they work with gesso over canvas board? Thank you for the absolutely beautiful, calming video and gorgeous artwork!
