Am using your express version, there are a couple of areas that are incorrect or missing - for example - there is no labour /machine rate for Rigid signs with digital printing.

In my 7 years as a graphic designer, I've used both Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW. Adobe is big on marketing, but Corel isn't, so many people think Adobe is way better. But once you get to know both, you realize they're pretty similar. I prefer CorelDRAW because Illustrator can be lazy about making its tools easy to use. They often add fancy new versions of the same old features instead of improving what's already there. Sure, Illustrator has some fancy stuff, but most people never use it. Both have their good and bad points. I've seen videos where people who only know Adobe say it's the best, but that's not true. The truth is, they're both just okay. I get frustrated with both Corel and Illustrator. Sometimes I wonder why they don't copy each other's good ideas. But I'm not a software expert, so I can't say. What matters most is knowing shortcuts and getting your work done fast. Newbies might use the mouse a lot, but pros use shortcuts to speed things up. People argue a lot about which software is better, but it's not worth it. Just pick one and stick with it. I wasted time switching between them before I realized it didn't matter. Just get good at one and show off your skills with your work.

You've omitted the single most important difference between the programs/suites - the PRICE! Where Adobe's monopoly outlook makes them rise the price, and the fact that you can't buy it permanently, only subscribe yearly. Where with Corel you pay only once. BIG F DIFFERENCE. Actually the real competitor for Adobe would be Affinity - only Adobe being super smart prohibited the Ai format, making it impossible for Affinity Designer to export to Ai fomrat. Too bad. :(

Corel was out long before Adobe. So they set the trends in the industry first. I have been using Corel since their very first software launch. I also like the idea of them rewarding their customers with fair pricing. I found Adobe gouging their customers in the last few years in particular and I have stopped using them. While using Adobe I also used Corel because they had much easier operational functions in their design. I bought Adobe's Master Collection when they sold it as a software disk. Then in the last 10 years, they have increased their pricing far beyond being reasonable. I worked with a company years ago that became very greedy and overnight doubled their pricing for their product. They lost half of their customer base overnight. Which then affected another area of their company in sales. They never recovered after that occurred. Treat your customers fairly before you destroy your company. Customers do not have deep pockets and at times struggle to afford what they buy. Always remember this when you are in business. I have seen so many companies that have gone bankrupt because they did not look after their customers. Always remember you are not in business for yourself but for your customers. Quality and ease of use of your product is also very important.

I have 7 years' experience in signs, I'm 24 my dad started me out at 17 doing fabrication and installation for him and honestly it was mehh the work was ok but our margins were slim because we didn't have a large bankroll and we were doing sale, pm, and everything else, it was tough. When I turned 20 I started talking to customers more and I started selling jobs, handling everything in real time really made me a very qualified sign guy. Anyways my father goes to work for someone and soon he runs the idea by me I should join their team. I just got an offer letter to be an Account executive, I'll pretty much be Sales/ PM and hold my customers hand through the process, hopefully everything run smooth. They say they are planning for expansion, and they generate very solid leads through marketing and funneling. My quota is 30K a month but they do large project such as channel letters, monuments, and pylons. I've fabricated all this stuff and sold it, so I know exactly what it takes to get done. Wish me luck.

Need to factor in productive / chargeable hours out of total available hours, Joe is employed for say 40 hours but not all hours can be directly chargeable to customers - Joe isn't a robot, he might be doing stock control, admin, taking deliveries etc. i.e completing many non customer specific tasks. Factor into the markup on Joe's hourly rate, or into overall overheads.

Hey, back off, at least he spelled PIZZA correctly, give him a break. He's a GOOG man. I would PAY money to see a sign this guy has made. If it looks anything like his vocabulary and dialogue, it DEFINITELY belongs on the hilarious side of KZbin., but hats off to him for putting these vids out there, - there ARE some diamonds in the rough if you're still here at 18:19... Don't forget the time it takes to work out the quotation AND the artwork.

Great video lots of respect! Its just that in my opinion some things are simply a myth. To me CorelDraw handles colors perfectly well and maybe even better then Ai. It is just not clearly differentiated RGB and CMYK so it can be easily mixed up, but once you master to differentiate these two you realize the colors are perfect, and I'm working with professional offset/flexo printing for 10 years. I just use web coated swop profile, same as Ai, always turn on proof colors and for web graphics I use RGB only. Second myth is that it is not compatible with Photoshop which I also find that Corel is even better compatible to PSD than Ai. It can perfectly import PSD file and when you ungroup you get all the layers. You use objects that are same as layers, export to photoshop, you get the perfect output with separated layers. Corel has capability like Ai + InDesign all in one which to me is one of biggest advantage. There are a lots of advantages in both apps, so I like the last part which refers that they are not against each other but rather you should use both for best performance.

I've been using Corel Draw since version 1.0. So I'm pretty addicted to it. But I'm not addicted enough to pay their over the top subscription fees. They can bugger off, I'm moving to Inkscape (I hope). In fact I'm moving to Linux period. This subscription software that dies if you don't pay up each year is clearly useless for anything archival. They way Corel has sold itself X3 and this model that is so over priced just don't make compatible sense. For the same price as Corel on a true monthly subscription, not Corel's yearly fee, you can have Adobe everything. Corel is worth $150-200AU not $600 every year. I think we should all be having a solid look at open source software and Linux. Inkscape is built around SVG. Illustrator is build around PS format. And Corel is build around what? SVG graphics done in Inkscape are perfect. In Draw they are too often a screw up and have been for years. And Postscript is an Adobe invention to manage printers. I doubt that Illustrator would be worse at SVG than Draw but it may well be poorer. Both Draw and Illustrator are converting from the in program code to SVG. It's not the same as working in SVG from the getgo. SVG is open source and very well documented. SVG will be the default for web graphics. It's not fun moving from a program that you have used since 1.0 and know inside out. What I think is this, the new owners of Corel are going to screw it up! They are a US pension fund seeking maximum returns. Forum activity for Draw appears to be down by more than 90%. Many of the best well known faces in that forum have disappeared. And it is clear as day they don't understand how Draw got its marketshare; cheap non compulsory upgrades and pirate software that was passed about on disks initially that got people interested and lead to them paying for software. Now we have a 15 day trial, Corel only have 15 day trial for Draw, everything else is 30 days. This is insane... a 15 day window to hook a new user to a pricing model that is perhaps X4 what you pay Adobe (or same as Adobe for 1/4 of the software), it's a model that users reject and I'd say threatens the viability of continuing with a decent level of software development. Anything open source will definitely be slower to adopt AI features. I've asked the question of GIMP developers and they are not going to implement any AI functions until the air has cleared about copyright and the various AI companies scrapping the web. Pytorch is likely not in that class. But the AI image generation most certainly is a copyright concern. Will Inkscape make the grade for me... don't know yet. What I do know is that Inkscape will be there forever and that the development is driven by functions that make it better and not by the marketing department. I'm betting that in the longer term, the main difference between Inkscape and Draw/Illustrator with be cost and not features or abilities. And Inkscape files will be able to be opened by Inkscape forever without a fee. I hope this helps.

Corel for Signage and large format printing, illustrator for magazines and more effects. Corel is cheaper and easier. Although Photoshop is king in imaging. But signage does not need advanced software.

Thanks, for your advices and I got your points. Only, please note that 15% of $20 equals to $3. Would you kindly explain how you got $34,50? That is 72.5% higher than $20. Also, $2,040+910+800= $3,750 20% of that is $750 and you should get a total of $4,500
