Lees 4 3 4 is ch confirmable if you just throw 4 3 out see that they lunched visually you can confirm to the last hit and still get a combo but the route is a little different because of the delay on the last 4 I got good enough to hitconfirm f21 in T7 and with the changes to hit animations can somewhat see when 223 is ch I still dont do the proper b1:1 just frame I mash it out lmao

4,3,4 yeah, pretty easy. Didn't talk about it because you don't get full launched for that one, and it's pretty rare people float you out of it (threat of 4,3,3, I guess). The 4,4,4, I could never hit confirm that.

Sup fellow lee mains. You can actually counter hit confirm 2,2,3 and df3,2,3 strings. The hit sparks for counter hits are different as can be seen for a normal hit at 6:21 and the counter hit at 6:29 which becomes a big slash on screen. If you see this slash on the first hit you can safely finish the entire string! I usually fish for counter hits by doing just the first 2 buttons. Stay marvelous 🌹

Sup fellow lee mains. You can actually counter hit confirm both the 2,2,3 string and the df3,2,3 strings really easily. The hit sparks are different for counter hits, it becomes a reddish/pink slash. If the first move of these strings hits and you see the counter hit spark it is safe to finish the string! You can see an example of the different hit spark on normal hit at 6:21 for normal hit and at 6:29 for a counterhit Stay marvelous!🌹

lees one of those characters that get significantly weaker the moment u lab him, most of lees toolkit is either linear asf or highs, he basically gambles with his life whenever he even attempts to start some sort of offense, ppl like to upplay him and say he’s incredibly strong but he’s a lower mid tier imo

He's got strong tools if they work, and all he needs is one counterhit and one wall splat to win, but yeah, when someone labbed him, he starts to struggle so much and has to be afraid to throw out anything. Lili is one of my worst matchups because she steps everything. Against someone who labbed Lee a bit, you gotta have your brain firing on all cilinders, because one mistake, no matter which move you used, and they launch you. Gotta be real careful with everything (hense this video), and gotta be able to read your opponent

Another tipp: if they jab interrupt your 223 after df1 because you're -1, try using ff4 to launch them for it

2,2,3 isnt really a frame trap tho. But most people do slower moves after df1 so 2,2,3 works pretty well

It's not b33, it's infinite kicks (ws3,3,3,3,3,3...). You can go either low-high with d3,3 or mid-high with df3,3. They can always block on the next mix, but this guy guessed wrong almost every time

Lidia became so much easier to fight once I realised you can just mainly SSR/SWR her df2 and ff2. Only issue is...she has an obnoxious homing low in db3..., and b4 as a homing move isn't too strong as you can SSR Duck (I think you can right?). For Cat Stance you SSR and SWR every option besides Cat Stance 4, you have to SSL/SWL. For Horse Stance it's more complicated, but if you SSR/SWL ff2, you don't need to worry about anything after that 😂.

b,b,ub when your back is against the wall. Not all characters do the flip, but Lee and a few others do, and I think it's the best version. I'm also like the only person in the world who does it regularly

Dante just fits so well for Lee, not just because of his hair, but his fighting style, I think. I had a Vergil Attempt in T7 (Dante too, but I think this one works better), but didn't look too good. I didn't think I could do one with T8 customization, but maybe I can try something. Really don't wanna buy the katana, tho...

@@BlackPegasusBP Agree. In T8 there's no good upper body and hairstyle for Vergil. The closest is 'Formal Coat' and Claudio's hair. Looks decent, but not as perfect as Dante. BTW Katana is not necessary. Beowulf style works too)) And I still don't understand why T8 customization is two steps worse than SC6.

How can you even question mashing in t8. Half of tekken kings I fight in t8 have no defence. Just brainless mashing. How do you counter it? Outmash or be patient and punish. Theres no neutral

Because I went on a losestreak by mashing fighting against Tekken King+, and got more consistent wins by playing a bit more reserved. But I'm not denying half of Tekken Kings have no defense, I've fought many who don't, and they're easy pickings. Even a really bad TGS alisa And GoD Victor. I think I mentioned that in the discussion after finishing MainMan's video, cut that out tho, so you wouldn't know it. Also "To beat mashing or you mash, or defend and punish". Soo... You can beat mashing by not mashing then? Seems like you're defeating your own argument of it just being brainless mashing

It's less required in this game than ever before...but just ONE kbd cancel will kill ALL that mashing. One kbd and a sidestep block will take care of the stuff with more reach. Especially after 1.05. Im not saying it isnt annoying...but it's a fun type of annoying. I'd glady run into a masher as opposed to someone that actively thinks about placing their buttons. Consistency will always be key! Im a TK Hwo w a Kishin Shaheen on the side for the nerds who need that info btw

@crazy911wman I was going to agree with you.......until you said backdashing and ss are like panic moves. You absolutely lost any credibility I was going to give you. Yes the db in the kbd can be dangerous but there is nothing at all risky about a ss if you cancel it with a block. At the end of the day, you're either going to find a way to succeed or find a way to complain....I think we're at opposite ends of that spectrum tbh.

I agree with the notion that ws2,3 was a strong change, but I would much rather have what he lost. I think too many Lee's are quick to jump on the "amazing heat burst changes" bandwagon, without realizing what they lost just to get a bug fix masked as a buff. We all know this heat burst was a problem since the launch of the game and it was clear it was not an intended interaction whether the fact it was hitting or not, it was a bug nonetheless. To me I think these changes make Lee less fun imo and in the past you were still able to get heat burst after ws 2,3 before with a tiny microdash, so it was a skill expression. You still had the option of ws2,3 into ff3 if you didn't want to risk it, which was still a good chunk of damage. I have been a Lee enthusiast since early Tekken 7 and this is the first time I can say I am not having much fun with Lee, you are essentially playing Tekken 7 Lee in Tekken 8 and now not even his heat changes up his gameplay to fit a new game. His heat now revolves entirely on using it specifically for ws2,3 which is just boring to me.

The biggest nerf to me was df1 they are removing more legacy mechanics. Lee heat is also designed for newer players to pick him up more easily thats why you dont feel a strong change because if you could do the just frames already it just makes sure you wont fuck up. I'm just sad that mode of lee oki is getting nerfed!!!

Been a while since I was at that level, and it's hard to give advice without seeing what you're lacking, but pick these out depending on where you think you need improvement: If your combos are inoptimal, practice those; you should take away half the opponent's health in a single launch with Lee. People are still pretty bad at defending at those ranks. Figure out how to keep some pressure; This takes knowing Lee's stance transitions (including crouch). They'll probably throw out a lot of punishable stuff or whiff if you keep distance. Punishing takes time to learn the matchup, but you can focus on whiff punishing. Don't mash too much, but in some situations you can use 2,2,3 to get out of pressure if they're not frame traping you, or if they hesistate for a moment Throw out some knowledge checks Good luck!

It doesn't change much for me since I always tried to do it anyway (but mostly failed, since my microdash tech is very difficult, and didn't even work in all cases), but what it does is increase my winrate. Thing is, while I think it makes Lee stronger. I don't know if I like this change. Call me an "eLeetist" but this basically makes WS2,3 your go-to punish, and you ignore hopkick and catapult kick. I'll probably talk about this in the next video in more detail
