In retrospect I might have at least switched Jin and Nina in tiers, but overall given the premise, I think the tier placements are accurate enough

I play Feng, Jin, Acezuna, Bryan (and Fahkhumram) Bryan stands out as a highly technical character in my list. While aggressive play is often encouraged in T8, Bryan excels with strong fundamentals. Mastering his execution is crucial to overcoming his "excecution barrier" and reaching the blue ranks (Bushin) was the most hardest challenge of my character list. Bryan's strength lies in precise timing, spacing, and whiff punishment. Unlike characters like Alisa, Lars, or Victor who can dominate from a distance, Bryan thrives in the mid-range. But you have to work soooo hard to close the distance... He may lack the overwhelming mix-ups of fighters like Xiazou, Nina, or Eddy, but his strategic depth offers a different kind of challenge. Recent balance changes (Patch 1.04) aimed to buff Bryan, but some unintended glitches have emerged. Just stupid...actually they nerfed him now. Despite these, Bryan remains a rewarding choice for players who enjoy mind games, similar to characters like Fahkumram, Paul, or Kazuya.

I’m glad you rectified the original offense to Kazuya. Imo, the only truly honest characters are Steve, Kazuya, Bryan, Lee, and Paul.

Jin was in no way "too op" in 7 lmfao. 0 reach which forced you to constantly dash black for offense; bottom 1 sidesteps on the same level as Marduk, Jack and Fahk WITHOUT their reach advantage; actual negative oki since oponent was SAFER on the ground than while standing up; and to top it all off reactable mix, albeit with good reward. All of this is why Jin barely wok anything at all during T7 While T8 Jin did get his fundamental mistakes fixed he got a lot of his key tools nerfed. F4 has significantly less reach, doesn't realign on block and is no longer guaranteed at +8 (meaning you get blown up by powercrushes); new zen cancels limit 50/50s and are way too hard for little reward they give; lower combo damage and disfunctional parry. Also D2 in no way is "all of his lows combined" since: it doesn't crush highs on - frames (so main use of d4 is still there) and it also is quite reactable and hence doesn't replace db4. Main use of d2 is to blow up powercrushes/general CH launching and initiating offense from "outside". Overall I would say he's stronger but not due to new moves but more so reach, sidesteps and most importantly oki

Funny thing about Dvj is i switched to him after i saw that honest play with Kazuya just sucks (i am putting in waaay more effort than my enemies regularly). I played Dvj and remained honest but still could get clobbered by the bs tekken 8 nonsense. So i started spamming heat smash, samsara (u4) and b1+3 when getting pressured or at random and i started to win against the cheesy picks such as Jun with cheese of my own. So i guess puttung him in bs kinda works. Personally I'd take him down a tier because the Juns and kings are playing tekken 9 💀. Great tierlist tho

I'd rename tiers in "deserve no right to live", "deserve no human rights", "bullshit", "unfair", "ok". Move Raven, Whoreang, Leo, Law and Paul in 1st tier, DJin, Zafina, Jack and Claudio in 2nd tier, the rest of your 4th tier + Kazuya goes to my 3rd and the only ok character left is Steve

First of all, watched half of the vid and for some reason it was really interesting (Imma not really into 2hours length tierlist videos) Now to the main part: Dude IDK why I'm writing this but I've just played against you (Feng, lost 6:0) and you are the only one in the past couple of days who's been at least respectable. I'm kinda new to the game, have been playing against my friend in T7 a little bit before the announcement of T8 and started taking the game seriously only after T8 released. And now I'm feeling so fucking frustrated. For some reason one day everyone just started using taunts, ki charges, started to teabag and stuff. I've got to fujin without a single plug on my side and never trolled any1, but now I just wanna kill myself. I'm being so fucking salty cause of these douchebags. So thank you kind sir for your pleasant steam profile and nice game style.

I appreciate it. I don't expect anyone to watch the entire thing, especially in one sitting. That's why I marked the timestamps, I expected anyone who clicks on this to just look up the parts where we talk about characters they're interested in, like any tierlist. People take TEKKEN very seriously and personally, being a very advanced 1v1 fighting game, and naturally people hate losing, but also often disrespect players who are weaker (or perceived weaker) than them. Plus many consider Feng to be too strong as a character (us too), so they also form prejudices against players using him and other characters that are too strong. Just can't let it get to you. I try to always be respectful, unless someone initiates BM first. I used to rage in T7 quite a lot more, but I've mostly calmed down now. Tho it's inescapable that sometimes you're gonna get angry

bryan is not an honest character in tekken 8. QCB 1 removes all skill required with bryan, that one move undoes any right to call him honest. best move in the game

HE doesnt have a standard poke game but that shit doesnt matter in tekken 8. i could put a controller in my dogs food bowl and he could win a round with any character

That move is totally ridiculous and it’s still just mid tier in the game of Tekken 8. Ranking up in this game is a very tough gig with a character that’s this slow with bad heat and a terrible power crush.

Weird stuff. Jun so hated on cause she has a healing mechanic when she self harms? Her heat smash is good but for good reason, she needs compensation for the health lost. Her mixups are easy to counter, just a knowledge check, she is a new character basically for most people so she has that inbuilt, its expiring and she's mid tier now. Kazuya in Honest with his outrageous damage and basically coinflip playstyle of guessing, that devil form ain't a joke either, apart from that, pretty cool.

Everyone always says "dj broken because heat smash, and when you block you're forced to guess" Yeah, exactly like every other heat smash in the game. Sorry, but how is this an argument. I'd happily trade my heat smash for some better tracking mids, less negative on block pokes and a better df1 lol like damn

The difference with DJ's heat smash is it's basically fullscreen (or actually fullscreen), and you can't step it. A lot of others can at least be avoided with distance, or if it's ranged like Raven's it can be stepped pretty easily (Not Jun's, cause that's also ridiculous). With DJ's, (and Jun's as a matter of fact), you just can't really play neutral anymore. Also it's gone after the patch now, but at the time the scaling on CD 1 was really strong And I don't know if it's just that or what, but we both saw a lot of really stupid DJ players in as high as blue ranks, so there's definitely something that carries them.

It's not fullscreen, but i get it it has a long range. But so what? i just can't see how one attack, that's only accessible in heat, spends _all_ your heat, is _not_ guaranteed to hit, can only be performed _once_ every round and that is just as good as everyone else's = literally broken. Even if we assume it hits _every_ single round, it's hard to believe it's the sole reason. I'll grant that it is oppressive though. What is beyond that? What about the time he isn't in heat? Okay, say it's a factor. What else makes him broken? Is it his bad tracking? his shit pokes? Imma be honest, the cd1 scaling stuff was so niche, I highly doubt your average blue rank was aware of it. You said it yourself, a lot of them were stupid. Not to mention it's actually hard to do. I'm not arguing for a different verdict or to change anyone's mind, i just genuinely don't see the "brokenness" everyone's crying about

@@ballistic2527 So for starters to reiterate, this tierlist specifically wasn't about how broken OP someone is, but how annoying they are to fight against, and it's not targeted towards the top tier of play, (tho we may discuss something that would refer to that, it doesn't impact the placement), and we were close to putting him in unfair. And what does make him annoying to fight against is how he completely shuts down neutral when he's in heat, his hellsweep is really annoying because of the combo that pushes you so far, his sidestep 2u (I think that's the input) is so stupid with how much damage it does (and doesn't even look launch punishable, really). The setups he has for the heat smash are also very unclear, and so is how to deal with Mourning Crow (the non-hoaming option really looks like it tracks too). Another thing about him is the evasiveness of the flying move, where it evades mids and crushes lows (like some other hopkicks I hate), and it even puts some distance, so, while it isn't hard to punish if you have an appropriate move or you know the matchup, you still have to work harder to punish it than you should, and it catches you by surprise if you don't know the matchup. I was half joking with the whole "so many stupid DJs even at blue" but... actually it's more like quarter joking, there has to be something really cheap about him if they can get to blue using stupid moves at stupid times like that. If you watch some of my ranked gameplay (coughshamelessplugcough), you'll see that the DJs I encountered were some of the worst players I faced off against. And tho we didn't have footage, Zedd did beat a blue ranked DJ by just jabbing him to death. How he even got to that rank, I have no idea

How can you form an honest opinion on characters you never played? Tier lists should be reserved for the top players like Arslan and Knee...

@@brentthompson1607 You can actually just lab a character and form a decent opinion given you are an experienced player just by knowing the frames and how much you can abuse those moves. Please don't bring the authority argument, just because one doesn't play all character doesn't exclude the possibility to form an opinion with high credibility, otherwise only a selected few individuals could actually talk about certain things in the world e.g journalists publishing science topics that are out of the expertise etc.
