Drilling the prop this way will make the prop unbalanced. By with a regular drill will make the hole no longer precisely center as manufactured therefore it will cause vibration. It will work but I'm sure the vibration is there. You might not feel it but it's there. The correct way to drill the pro and keep the hole centered is to have it lathe mill or professionally drilled by a machine shop.

Hi Cody, That was impressive. Please if I am wrong help me understand. From your experiment it seems the better deal is the c2 30Lb. For the gain in Mph the 55lb cost twice as much as the C2 for very little gain. It looks like the 10/4 was the winner for the C2 but both worked better than stock. I just ordered the C2 and 10/5 for my nucanoe unlimited. Thank you so much for doing the research it was very helpful in making my decision.

Just purchased one of these, after much research. I simple chose it because I didnt want to invest too much in my first fishing kayak, as well as being an older female. I knew that i would encounter some issues with the rudder being on the bottom, but i figured that i would be able to find a video somewhere to combat the issue I am encountering. How does one solo load this onto their car without messing up the rudder. I am a visual person and cannot find a video anywhere. I have even tried to find a decent native video for this issue.

aha! you did it. Might be too much for a yak, but sounds perfect for a canoe! Seems like the math would hold up for any 86lb troller. I would be curious to see the running time difference between the 55lb @ 12v w/10x5 vs the 86 @ 24v w/10x8 *with the caveat that you don't go over 3mph with the same load.*. I suspect the 86lb setup will run longer with the same batteries since the amp draw will be lower for the given speed, so less lost to heat and battery dynamics.
@codyakfishing8856
@codyakfishing8856 Ай бұрын

Great video. I'm looking for a pedal kayak and fish frequently from my paddle Perception Pescador Pro. I love how my 2 Perceptions track. Im 5ft2 and need something I can car top and reach the pedals lol. This kayak looks to fit the bill. How does it track and cut through the water? Is it nimble for rivers and smaller lakes? I go on Lake Erie frequently (when she cooperates). I've had a kayak that was sluggish and didn't track well and do not want to repeat. Thanks so much!

Thanks for watching, I haven't had many high end kayaks but it tracks better than my old lifetime, I hear if you add the upgraded boo dox rudder to this kayak it makes it much better. I don't have any issues with it, my wife is 5'4" and fit in it perfectly. With seat, pedals taken off its easy to load on top of a car. It's easy to pedal around, I average 3-4 at a moderate pace and I'm no.track star....lol I'm sure you'd really like it..... If you have any more ?'s you may visit the hoodoo owners club on FB... Lots of very knowledgeable owners on there

So what's the prop you ultimately think best for 55lb-86lb thrust motors? *My sisuation's a bit different. I'll be using one 55lb and one 86lb trolling motor (vevor and newport) on my 27 foot sailboat. The sailboat runs great off a 4hp gas motor, so i suspect it'll do just fine with this combo. Hi Codyakfishing, I wanted to give you, my updates. I followed your suggestion and went to Home Depot with my prop. Found the correct bolt to simulate the prop shaft and started digging through the washers. Found a M10 that fit perfectly. It took 4 of them to stack to the threads. I just went out yesterday and wow! The prop is faster, but I what I found most impressive was the quiet and smooth ride. Totally different from both the stock prop and the 3 blade Kipewa. I trolled nonstop for 7 hours and usually the battery would be at 70 something percent when I put it on charge. It was at 88 percent, what an incredible savings. I use my motor on the rental boats at my home lake. The boat is a 15-foot, flat bottom, fiberglass Carlonia Skift that weighs over 500 pounds. Thanks again for all your very timely support! You mentioned on a video you live in Colorado. I am from Colorado, a small town in Delta County on the Western Slope. Let for the Navy in 1984 and never made it back home.
