1/8 twist is a lot faster than 90% of the barrels in this cartridge. You can definitely stabilize those heavy pills but unless your chamber has a long throat as others have mentioned you are using a large amount of case capacity to hold your projos. I’d probably use the 150g ELDX It has great BC (.574 G1 or .289 G7) Also as others have said. Staball 6.5 is a very good powder for getting the most out of the 7mm08. I am getting 150fps more velocity over 4064 with it when using 120g Ballistic Tips.

Hello friend... your video is very good, I congratulate you... I tell you that I have always modified the Trigger on my tikkas, installing a pen or lighter stone spring, which is more sensitive than the original, which is very rigid, apart from changing the screw that presses the trigger into action, The one that makes the regulating screw stop, I changed it for another one that has a smaller head diameter, making it come out further and also being even more sensitive, in these cases I have been left with a weight of one pound (half a kilo). A hug, good shots and blessings..

Ball Powder might like a mag primer. And you are loading pretty light. And the groups are not all that great. Low pressure loads in the M1 Garand run HIGHER port pressure than service load levels. Has to do with how the pressure builds. Loaded to near service rifle velocitys the pressure rise is higher with a sharp peak and then a rapid drop. Light loads have a slow pressure rise much longer curve and higher pressure at the port. And again you need a primer that works with a ball powder. AND different bullets often like different primers. My 600 yard service rifle load with and 85.5 gr Berger 23.7 Varget like 450 cci. I use Fed gold medal for 77s with 24 gr. This is virtually the standard load for Service Rifle in the AR with various. ARs both in 223 and 308 tend to do ejector swipes even with factory loads. If this worries you its gonna be tough to get to anything like the best loads. You might need a new bolt.

8:40 You gotta rotate the case in the comparator. Most readings with ammo req more than one location to be tested. Why are my very simple comments being deleted??

I do very good with the 129 grain Hornady SST and 6.5 Staball. After I retighten my bipod and held positive press groups tighten. This weight range appears to work well.

It’s not easy having both maximum accuracy and high velocity for a given bullet. In my testing for my SPR build using a Douglas 18 inch Mk 12 barrel, so far it has shot the best groups with only 21.5 grains of Varget for a 77 gr. OTM. Starting grains is 21, so truly at the low end for velocity for .223. Also I have found that using 3 round groups in your testing won’t tell you a whole lot. It’s much more revealing to shoot 10 round groups, then sub moa really means something. For instance Tikka guarantees their rifles to be sub moa for 3 shots using Sako match ammo, while Sako, the parent company gives a 5 shot moa guarantee with Sako match ammo. Gas guns are harder to shoot consistently accurate. When I shot my first sub moa 10 round group there were only a few seconds between shots and I did not break my position or come out of the glass. Any slight difference in position can cause flyers compared to my bolt guns, at least for me. Thank you for your videos and keep up the good work.

I love CFE223. I get 2900 fps with the 169 SMK in my .308. I use 5 grains less with 4064 for the 178’s and it gets me 2800fps with no pressure. Id like to build a 22-250AI for the 95 smk with that chassis

Every handloader has his own way to process his brass & build his handloads. It is interesting to see how others do it, sometimes we find ways to improve our own methods.

It’s the Chamber! The difference between .223 and 5.56 is NOT the brass, it’s the chamber tolerances. The .223 chamber slightly “smaller” and will build more pressure than the exact same cartridge in a 5.56 chamber. It doesn’t matter if the cartridge is a .223 or 5.56, they will build the same pressure in a .223 chamber and also the same pressure in a 5.56 chamber (but both will produce less in a 5.56 chamber. Personally, i fully resize brass and load for .223 chamber. This way the round is safe in any gun and IMO, more accurate. BTW, I also load 69gr Sierras.

f*ck that. it's like you're TRYING to make "bulk" prep hard on yourself. Build an induction annealer (super easy, even a monkey like me could do it), get a Giraud triway trimmer (amazeballs and 130% worth the price), and a Hornady progressive press with the lock-n-load primer pocket swage kit THEN you'll be ready to BULK load 5.56. I can have 1000 once fired LC casings annealed, swaged, sized ,trimmed/chamfered/deburred and ready to load on a Saturday and have the them all loaded up the next day with shooting time to spare. And for the record, I even do everything other than loading and pocket swaging on a single stage press, so it technically could be made quicker. Trying to do bulk without those tools is pure torture, imo
