Great work! Love your videos, we have adopted your tool setup and about to order the starter kit to try out. How long before you can tape off on the bathtub in case you have to do the floor a different color? Also, we are still using the fuji platinum 3. Will we be able to accomplish that same look?

This is awesome, I work for a company that helps elderly people 60+ with minor repairs on the house, and don't charge them. This will be awesome to add since we have tons of requests about slippery tubs. Where can i find them. Do they come in white and beige? Thank you again.

I'm a Handyman, not all the handyman are the same, you have to know what you do and have common sense. On that tub would've drilled 5 holes, one in the center and 2 on each end, and not even, the foam spreads very good under the tub floor. I love your videos and also learning a lot from them. Thank you for sharing SOME of your knowledge.

@@bathtubrenew i finally used Topkote today at an empty apartment. It’s a lot thicker than hawks. I had to turn the fluid knob up a bit and I added an ounce of reducer. I ordered their starter kit and got the medium reducer. Should I have gotten the slow reducer? But, have you noticed how much thicker Topkote is than hawks ? Also , it dried as fast as hawks 4 hour. I’m using the 280 low vc. Went with the recommended 12 ounces of resin, 3 catalyst , 5 reducer but then added an ounce or so
@bathtubrenew
@bathtubrenew 29 күн бұрын
@@veganfit2388 It’s a high solid then any other coating. Sometimes when I need to spray it super smooth I will over reduce to 4:1:4 on the last coat. Most times I use 4:1:3. Done testing with both, just remember if you use more reducer just put an extra coat because when it dries the solvent leaves and it dries thinner. So to have more mill build you will need more coats. 4 coats is good for how I spray.

@@bathtubrenew today I went with 12 ounces resin, 3 catalyst, 8 ounces medium reducer. Just an ounce under your recommended 9 ounces for reducer. It still feels too think at 8 so I’ll bump it up to 9. Im spraying much slower now. With hawks the paint was flying out of the gun so I had to move a bit quicker. But now I’ve really slowed down. I’m using the 1.3 fluid nozzle. What are you using? Thanks again for all your help with answering my questions. I really appreciate it. I hope you answer this message. I was talking to George from Topkote and mentioned that you did a bunch of test with crosslink and that’s how I heard about it was from you. You’re in the new Topkote video.

@@veganfit2388 I mix 4:1:3 So 12oz: 3oz cat: 9oz xylene or (reducer) I have gone as high as 12oz:3oz:12oz, just put an extra coat on, because then the solvent dries it will be less mill build per coat. I always do two light light coats, wait 8-10 mins, then 2-3 wet coats. Over lap 80-90%, once you get the hang of it, it’s super easy. I use a 1.3mm tip.

@@veganfit2388 There is 3 grits I carry, 30 or 50, then 100, and 300. If you finish with just 100 and you put 3 coats on you can still see a bit of the sand scratches. I start off with 50, move to 100 to shape or take out any small chips, then a quick sand with 300 with an interface pad on it, super smooth. Zero scratches. Takes rust of like mega fast, just have to use water. One of the best things I ever got. This isn’t even my idea, seen a guy in Russia use the 100 on all the tubs because they don’t have etch over there. I just modified it a bit. Hope it helps! 👍👍👍
