Nice running both. That hill looked tough mind you. Good luck for the 10k next week Rich. Done that one 4 times, it's essentially just 2 Parkruns but ran in reverse if I remember rightly which I quite like. All the best 🙂

@@DeeJay_78 Thank you, this one was actually 5.5k which threw me with my time as I ran 8.08 min miles! Yeah the hill was nasty but fairly short. Looking forward to Sunday, Town Moor is generally pretty flat

@@DeeJay_78 yeah I was shocked when I saw my time as my watch said I'd run 8.08 min miles and then i saw the distance and it made sense. Strange to have a 5k event that's more than 5k!

Well done to both of you. I do enjoy Wild Deer events, highly recommend any of the trail runs, especially Alnwick, Lambton or Raby in the NE or Grasmere in the NW.

Nothing in Leeds, there's at least 6 to choose from Temple Newsam, Middleton Woods, Bramley, Armley, Roundhay Park, Woodhouse moor, come on Rich sort it out. Love the vids. cheers Rob and Potternewton.

I'm glad you enjoyed the Parkrun at Chopwell Wood, you do sometimes see wild deer walking around, but no one mentioned seeing them this week. I did mention the hills in the First Timers briefing this week, they are a challenge but you do get used to them if you run them regularly, honest. It would be great to see you at Chopwell again soon.

I was caught out by the first hill as I'd set off too fast and it disrupted my rhythm but I'll pace it better next time and save a bit for that last hill! Such an enjoyable route though and I appreciated it more when I'd picked my lungs back up in the cafe!

@@DeeJay_78 yeah we have been putting it off but then thought, 'well it can't be that bad!' It was, but it is a lovely route. Just don't expect a fast time! The middle downhill bit is great and (almost) makes up for the hills

Good work ! I've not done that one yet, been putting it off...! Did a non Parkrun event there a few years ago, remember the hills being brutal ! If you fancy a beautiful but mainly flat one, try the Darlington South Park parkrun, did it today and it's a lovely place to run around, highly recommend it.

Those hills are challenging, but it's 1 of my favourite Northeast parkruns. If you want a good challenge. get along to a wild deer trail run events at the woods. Well done to you both on your first visit👏👏

@abitrich68 I'm a bit biased, as I lived there for 9 years. I moved to Newcastle last year, as I got married this year and moved in with 'wor lass' as they say up here, in April. I come from Lincolnshire, but love living up here. Newbiggin is a great parkrun. Make sure that you gan for a pint or three at The Ink Spot. It's a craft ale bar and was my local when I lived in Newbiggin.

Great run down. Like you I have only recently got into parkrun on a regular basis. I find myself particularly enjoying the smaller events with a real community feel, but we are quite lucky to have some beautiful courses on our doorstep around here

Thanks for the video, especially the parking info. For me the ones I remember being hard are Jesmond Dene, Blackhill and Windy Nook. My fave is Forest of Dean, it's a bit like Rising Sun. 🏃🏻♂️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏼

Very interesting to see people like this so much, I wasn’t a fan when I did it last year! I think it’s because on the narrow part, 3 people almost ran into me and it just felt too tight and narrow. It’s a lovely place though. Well done in the time, back to brilliant form! 👌

@@DeeJay_78 Thank you. Yes it is tight on the railway section and it was busy yesterday but I didn't really have an issue with it. However I can see how it could cause problems if you're wanting to overtake. It is beautiful though and flat!

Hi Rich, after watching your recent video where you were struggling with the chest infection, 52 minutes is excellent, I do the Sale Sizzler series every summer where we also start and finish on the track. There’s a couple of videos I’ve done on the SS😊

Do you find the HB very unsettled when starting to record ? I find for the first 20 seconds its all over the place before settling down.

@@esrider7765 yes, you need to start recording before you actually want to. I had to edit out the start of every clip. Plus thy stabilisation was terrible in low light

Hi Rich, chest infections are nasty, affecting our lungs, our engine so it’s no surprise you struggled. I struggled at Vitality 10K and its dispiriting but I suggest you just go and enjoy Jarrow, skip today’s run and do a shakeout tomorrow for Parkrun 20th anniversary😊
